Best movie editor

Hello ppl
I got a new Canon Powershot S2 IS. Though its not much of a movie recorder, id like to edit the movies for a much sleeker and crispier look (changing the color tones and all). It records in avi format, but i change it to mpeg, as it takes too much of space. So, what would be the best movie editor(which also edits MPEG -1/2)?

You can try Adobe Premiere 2.0, but the interface can be quite daunting.
Or Ulead VideoStudio 10

Start using Windows Movies Maker. It comes builtin with WinXP. Update WinXP to SP2 and version of movie maker will also be updated.

BTW, what is the format of the file that your digicam saves the video to?

the cam saves the videos in *avi format.
Tooo heavy. A 45 sec file takes up 95MB, and when i compress to MPEG takes up just 6 MB.
Does Window movie maker change the color tones of the video? Coz the camera has very basic options for changing the color tones of the video

Re: Best movie editor

Hi i have a problem. I recorded a few clips (.mp4) from a concert which I want to upload onto youtube. Normally I use the Windows Movie Maker software to convert to wmv/edit it a bit, but in this case there is significant loss of audio quality (the recording is crystal clear) when outputed from windows movie maker. Any other recommendation of freeware which can do the job of (i) adding 2 .mp4 clips, (ii) converting it to wmv while retaining the glorious audio quality.

Since your ultimate goal is to upload the videos to youtube, you don't really need to convert the mp4 files to wmv's.

Just sign in to your youtube account, upload the videos, and use youtube's online video editor: http://www.youtube.com/editor to combine the clips!

Llwellyn Anthony Gonsalves is the best, in my opinion.
Jokes apart, Adobe Premiere is expensive, but the best.
