I remember tha Bangalore live traffic was posted earlier too.

They are just showing traffic in 3 areas: Kandivli, Malad and Mahim. They don't flash where exactly in these suburbs these images are coming from. For a major city like Mumbai they should have traffic cams on all major intersections, traffic lights (this will also help the cops nail traffic violators) and some more on WE, EE and Sion-Panvel highways. Come to think about it, it's amazing that in this day and age a city like Mumbai is just starting to incorporate traffic cams. Nevertheless, it's a start.

Well, they started Bangalorelive with 3 cams - now it is up to 6. Hopefully, other locations in the cities; and other cities too will be added quickly.

These cams will also help in other situations - such as floods, blasts, and relief work. Hope the Maharashtra Govt is not too proud to use these websites for information, especially for relief work.

Very useful find. Hope these guys put up more cams in better locations.

Reached the web page below by chance. It shows live videos of Chennai traffic at four locations. Really cool to see the traffic live from home on the laptop. Guys (and gals!) with wireless internet should be able to see it on the move.

I could not see the feed from the Kilpauk signal webcam. The other three worked perfectly.

The webcam locations (as per the website) are:

- Kodambakkam: Camera points towards Kodambakkam bridge. Traffic is coming from Valluvar Kottam and moving towards Vadapalani. The camera is on Hotel Pratap Plaza.

- Thiruvanmiyur Signal: Camera points towards Taramani road, the IT Highway. We can see the traffic coming from ECR road and going straight to Taramani. Camera on Residency INN building.

- Kilpauk Signal: Camera points towards Pachiappa`s College. We can see the traffic coming from New Avadi Road. Camera on Sify I way building.

- Kathipara Signal: Camera points towards Le Meridien Hotel. We can see the traffic coming from Porur Road (Butt Road). The camera is on the Odyssey building.

I'm surprised that there is so much traffic at 2.30 in the morning on the roads of Chennai! Wonder if the whole thing is recorded. If someone has an accident at these points, traffic investigation would become lot easier.
