You learned driving at 9? What does that mean, you could independently drive in roads with other traffic moving around you?

There is a difference between controlling the car and driving the car.

controlling the car: Knowing the controls, having the ability to start, move around, stop, etc.
driving the car: Know and follow all the traffic rules, drive in highway/city with proper discipline, drive in heavy traffic, know when to yield, know where to park, where not to park, how to park, etc.

PS: Most people on Indian roads merely control their vehicle.
PPS: I too did the same in the first 7 years of riding, I merely controlled the vehicle.

I too was wondering the same - but looking at the Premier circa 80s, I thought may be a typo?

OT -
And that comment, Samurai, inspired by my new signature...... ?

I am a July 1960 model! Turned 50 a month back. But unlike most other 50 + bhpians, I have a son who is just 10 years old. Autumn's child, born 11 years after wedlock! So I have to spend my leisure and money judiciously, and continue working till he is on his feet!

IMO it would be ideal to have some indication near their handle for all under age bhpians, or at least compulsorily display their date of birth in the profile. Would be a great help to temper our response while replying to their posts.

Agreed. The easier way is to Code them according to their age as well say for eg. <10-Kid, 10-15 Adolescent, 15-18 Senior Adolescent, 19-25 Youngster, 26-30 ??,30-50 ??, >50 ??
This would keep both language and content in check. Not that ours is off deceny

Now how would the hand look like
Kid Senior Bhpian

The poll itself requires re-moderation of the ages. It shows the age of the one created and i am on the other side...

Not so elaborate! An indication that someone is a teenager or even younger will do.

Very strongly agreed to this point.

If displaying DOB is considered as privacy being exposed, then may be some color indication to state which age group the member belongs.

Growing old is compulsory - growing up is optional. If you have not enjoyed 30s then this is the right time because next year you will be 31!!!
