3. Traffic and registration process might take time. But once inside the venue, the field is free to roam around.

Thanks for the responses. Based on the advice, did not go. Maybe next time.

Re: Aero India: Feb 2015 at Yelahanka Air Force base, Bangalore

Went to the Aero show on 18th.

Enjoyed the show but lesson learned well.

Started from BTM at around 9. Reached Hebbal flyover by 10, from there the jam starts. From there, took 3 hours to reach the NITTE college road a distance of 11 km. Horror awaits. Police does not allow cars to go on that road. Parked on the service road of NH7, near the BSF campus. Walked back. It was utter traffic chaos all around. Walked for a km under the sun. Got into a share auto. He could go for another 500 m because of incoming cars from the show blocked the whole road. Finally walked the last 500 m to reach the gate.

Enjoyed the show thoroughly as it was my first time.

Note to myself:
Never go on the last day.
Never go on a holiday.
Start very early morning if violating the above two.

Don't know if it will come back the next time. If our Def Min has his way, it might be shifted to his home state, Goa.

I left home at 7:30 and reached inside only at 10:30. Had taken the exhibition area ticket and the number of people was just astonishing. Police had made sure the airport road itself was not used and blocked and everyone was made to take the service roads.

Saw the Rafale and Gripen from close. They dont look as menacing as the Russian fighters.

Wow. The Breitling Biplanes were there eh?
I would love to go. But each year, just the thought of going through the evil Bangalore traffic, those crowds at the venue and confusing parking issues and all the rest of it puts me off.
