Re: The Scale Model Thread

The best Maisto 1:18 scale model I have bought sometime in 2004, the Peugeot 307 WRC version.

Amar, I am totally new in this field so not aware of the scale , I got this a surprise gift from wife and friend from UK. I am not sure if you can purchase this online however you can order it with someone coming from UK.

Thanks,
Vishal.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

@Amar, The Peugeot is very very cool. Maisto used to make wonderful cars at one point of time. They really need to improve their quality on a couple of their cars. I desperately want those OZ wheels though

True. The major drawback is the panel gap. This is what stopped me from buying their 1:24 models. The panel gap is huge. This is quite evident on the doors.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

True. But then for 1:24 the only other option is Welly. 1:24 is not a very popular scale worldwide either.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Presenting two of the most beautiful 1:18 scale models in my collection, the Hotwheels Ferrari Enzo bought in 2003 and its recently acquired Enzo FXX version by Hotwheels Elite that my mother (accidently) got from Italy.

The Enzo was introduced by Ferrari in 2002 with a 5998cc V12 engine developing 600 PS. Almost 400 examples of this car were produced.
In 2005, Ferrari launched the "track only" version of the Enzo, the FXX that developed 800PS from its 6262cc V12 engine. 31 such cars were produced.

Silverado - As I had said, I had this Ashok Leyland Iveco truck in my school days. Very bad that I don't have it anymore. You have kindled quite a bit of nostalgic moments in my life. Thanks for it. And, that Tata 407 looks nice, really nice.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

@sajands - TATA 407 or AL , You Dont get them any more! Centy toys does not produce them anymore.

I have managed to retain my collection since my school days and this one is very very close to my heart

I used to bring reflective stickers and using Punch used to punch holes in that tape, the output of punch would be a round one, which would be used for fog lamps in my cars and trucks.

Also the stickers used for displaying rates come in various sizes , with designs drawn on them by black sketch pen, they would be my wheelcaps.

I will post those pics soon, i miss those days badly when i used to really tinker with looks and accesories for my scale models.

I also have a M800 with top chopped by me.

Other things which i would like to fit were Mud flaps.

I used a copper wire for the front U shaped bull bar and used to attach it to my cars using a simple cellotape, that bar would also host the fog lamps created by punching reflective tapes.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

You brought back memories of my younger days too.

Im considering the Red Elite 458. I already have the Yellow 458, but ive heard of the red one becoming really really rare so I was thinking of picking it up..
