their product is Tops - no doubt about that!
I m not sure it is worth having these shipped from abroad - for one thing the security levels are poor and many things that I have had shipped in the last 9 months have gone missing in the post/ courier. I ve stopped getting things in via post/ courier from abroad now. better to get them shipped to a friend abroad and have him/ her bring them down when they visit OR pick them up when one goes there.

I used to buy a Maisto earlier but now, maisto feels boring & dull in front of Autoart.
I thought of getting it shipped from a friend but still the prices are high outside India.
For instance i bought Lancer Evo IX in 1000 bucks but the site mention 35$ which is abt 1500 bucks.

Can you please ask the person from Modelart, Bngalore
whether they hace the following models?
1.Mazda RX-8
2.Maybach 57 S 2005
3.Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-SPEC-II
4.Subaru Impreza WRC 2008 Plain Body Version

all in 1:43 scale models.
Or else can you give me his number?

Because Modelart, Delhi doesnt have these models. :(

none as good as Auto Art - even Kyosho doesnt quite cut it, as compared to Auto Art as per my impression.
A few other good ones are Corgi, Vanguards, Solido, MiniChamps, Edison Giacattoli. Indeed I would rate these similar to Bburago which is cerainly better than Maisto.
While these are certainly better than Maisto they also dont quite have the same level of finesse as Auto Art has.

I would disagree here sir.
I have a BMW M3 Convertible 1:18 from Kyosho & it is damn gorgeous.
Also i have a model of Audi Q7 1:43 which i bought from AutoExpo '08 from the Audi stall.
It is very detailed.
Easily comparable to Autoart.
The make is Ichuco.
Never heard of it before or come across on web.

I have a AutoArt Mercedez Benz Pullman S600 and its detailing is mindboggling , BUT its build left me unimpressed.

Its mirrors, wipers and emblem are not upto the standards expected from AA. I dont know whether this problem is with my particular model.

I have a Franklin Mint model which is much better made.

I have a few Autoart models..thankfully i haven't faced any such problem.
Also the build quality is brilliant.
I have seen Franklin models, but i did not find their detailing as good as Autoart's.

Mate, the models from the Mint are much more precise than most other companies - including AA. Only issue I have with them is that they do not make my focus scale (1:18)... but I do have a few Franklin Mints & Danbury Mint cars in 1:24, they are some of the finest models.

here are some additions made today:

Jag SS100 - Signature - 1:28 - i love the car - im not so hot on the quality though - feels a bit plasticky though it looks rather nice.

Matchbox Morgan Aeromax
Matchbox Porsche Carrera 911
Matchbox Bentley Continental
Matchbox Lotus 2008
Matchbox TVR Tuscan
Matchbox Jeep Wrangler
Maisto VW Beetle
Tomy Digger Diecast (cheap but good quality)
Tomy Roadroller Diecast (cheap but good quality)
Tomy Fire Engine Diecast (cheap but good quality)
Tomy Tipper Truck Diecast (cheap but good quality)

followed by 2 more pics of the same Jag SS100.

also saw a Merc 170 and a Pierce Arrow and a Duesenberg - Signature - wasnt really inspired enough to buy them though.

I saw a couple of nice auto art models - one of which I will probably pick up tomorrow since it is a great cult car - Corvette Stingray.

Auto Art Bangalore also has a 1:43 Jag XJ13, Jac C Type, XJ 8 - well worth buying for any enthusiast - Ive already got all these from auto art so I didnt pick them up - they are all at the old price of 995 each.

Schuco is MUCH better than AA. It is in the same league as CMC,Exoto etc. But that is visible in the cost as well. I am yet to see a CMC 1:18 for < 10000 INR
