Franklin Mint :)

Have been window shopping for some emergency vehicles for sometime , today found one lying in a corner of a shop and bought it immediately.

The model is a 1938 Ford Fire Engine by Franklin Mint, Limited Edition of 5000 pieces. ( I dont know whether 5000 is a limited edition, seems like a BIG number )

Same model is availabble by YatMing , but there are so many tiny parts in the model such as hoses, fire extinguisher, bell etc and the YatMing model was not at all well made , but was very cheap compared to the FM final price.

Attached photo is from the web, I shall take some actual snaps and post it tomorrow.

Nice buy, especially since it is from the Mint. 5000 is pretty limited when you consider the option to mass produce in 10s of thousands.

Guys, I'm just starting my collection. Have a McLaren SLR and a Focus WRC version so far. I was wondering if I can still get McLaren F1s in 1:18 or if the scale replicas have also been discontinued? Which manufacturers still make the F1?

OMG that model is BEAUTIFUL! 1:24 I assume? How do you compare FM to Minichamps and Autoart? Iv always wanted a model of a truck but Minichamps and Schuco are the only ones who make it and prices are around $300.
