Re: My 1st 50 of die cast models

Hi mridul great collection! am inspired myself lol. Just a few questions, do u just collect cars from one maker of die cast models or a few? Can you share brands that make good accurate cast models please. Final question, Did u source all your collection from abroad or domestic?

I collect all makes, but what i look for is the fit and finish the famous brands are

Mattel - Hotwheels
Kyosho
CMC
Burago
others.

Most of them I bought it here, some abroad from Ferrari store. if you want the best try Kyosho or CMC which make really authentic stuff which are expensive. You can contact Rakesh Mehta of Automania in Mumbai who runs a store.

Cheers

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Been adding up new scaled models to my collection but never got a chance to capture them as schedules have gone haywire as I've been recently promoted to a new position called "Father" Last week, captured these models at office. These adorn my work station and that's when I thought of capturing them and sharing them here.

Bandhav, the E class is an all time favorite as it was the last of the wedge shaped, tank-like build quality Mercedes manufactured.

Your Auto Art example is beautiful.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Here are Land / Range Rovers in 1:24 scale. The yellow Range Rover is by BBurago of Italy and its interiors as well as exteriors have been completely repainted. This is actually a kit model of a rally Range Rover bought in 1996. It had a lot of water transfer decals and I was unable to apply them properly. After more than ten years, the model was dismantled and repainted in one of the period Range Rover (1971) shades.

The white Defender is by Welly, the first generation Freelander and 1950s Land Rover are again by BBurago

Amar din't know that you had these gems too in your collection. I want that Defender and the Blue Series IIA (I think may be wrong on the model). Any chance of getting these now. The welly one is also now available in my town.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Manish, get the Defender at the earliest, it is the best model Welly has ever made. It is also a hot favourate amongst collectors. The Series IIA is by Burago and I got it from Odessy, Bangalore airport in 2010. That model is quite easy to find. You can take a look at Landmark near Forum Mall or Odessy shops in and around Bangalore.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Very innovative display. Scale models attract a lot of dust and cleaning them is nothing short of a noghtmare. If not done carefully, you are bound to lose a rear vview mirror, fog lamp, wiper or any other delicate part. Consider covering the display with transparent acrylic sheets.

Your Ferrari line-up is comprehensive.

Also regular cleaning and open enviornment will rob you of the chrome on the shinny parts. Have experienced that on my models.
