This is available for 16k brand new at modelart. They have officially started getting Kyosho. What Manish posted is the 1:18 scale car. The 1:12 is for 42k and not currently available in India.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Small scale car comparison
I happen to have the same car model (not necessarily the model year) from four different die-cast manufacturers, so thought will compare them to give an idea to other current & potential small scale collectors.

I had stopped collecting Hot Wheels after school, due to their boring / repetitive wheel designs – same silver prints. Also, I believe, there were few real / licensed models – as Mattel seemed to be focusing on fantasy ones. New Hot Wheels licensed models are pretty nice, especially considering the price. This particular Hot Wheels Dodge Viper is amongst the better ones with good detailing – including a metal spoiler and realistic wheels. Also the rear tyre is wider than the front ones, which is another realistic aspect.

Majorette have the realistic springy suspension as their trump card, though detailing is similar to hot wheels, with opening parts in some models. The new Premium and Limited editions have upped the ante, and are giving regular Tomica’s a good fight. Even though these Majorettes do not have rubber tyres, the headlights are mostly plastic (part of interior – not separate pieces), plus there are opening parts like doors (front or boot) and even hoods in some cases.

Tomicas are exquisite (I have only regular models) – I especially like their red dye for marking tail-lights – the pigment they use is deep and realistic. Also some of them have opening doors – which is always a plus in such a small scale.

Models from Siku (Germany) are of slightly larger scale 1/55, and have rubber tyres with treads that are quite realistic, though quite a few models share similar rims. Head and tail-lights in these models are mostly plastic lenses (separate pieces-transparent for headlight and red-coloured for most tail-lights). Also the rear tyre is wider than the front ones, which is another realistic aspect.

Please find below a comparison chart of some basic features of cars from each manufacturer.

A challenge not to come out of ModelArt without a car
Nice pics! I have the 250GTO from Bburago , I guess the Kyosho is more detailed.
Though the Royale is good, I had the 1:16 first release by Franklin Mint..so this did not tempt me. The JEEPs are wonderful!

Here are some pics of the Car Transporters by Tomica Limited Vintage. Hope you enjoy them.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Not quite a car model, but still a scale model.

This morning we happened to be visiting a toy shop. Saw this speed camera model, working flash!

Had to have it!!

Ah that 190 is super. Try and take its photo without the flash but focus carefully in normal light and you will get a top result!

I ll have to unpack them from their boxes and/ or packs. The ferrari is in a blister pack that I dont want to tear.
However I will take more pics and post them in a day or two.
And yes, I always go for these classic type cars and preferably in 1:43 or 1:64 or 1:76 or similar. While I love 1:18's they are too bulky and will take up a lot of space in my overflowing cupboards besides being very expensive to acquire as well.
