I'm assuming this is an MR then. I only have one model from that make (a 1:18 LaFerrari). I've always been tempted to go for an Amalgam, but their prices are prohibitive. Plus I'm not sure there's quite a resale market for Amalgam models.

Do post pics of your other models as well, we're all here till the 4th of May now.

Most of the scale models I have came with the actual cars. Here is one that didn't: a 1:18 LEGO F40 replica.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

I Have just discovered DIECAST CAR RACING, and its very addictive.

I was a bit sceptical at first when it appeared in my "recommendations" on Youtube. But since I have nothing but time in this quarantine, I figured I'd give it a go. I started with one of the videos in the "Japanese Car Tournament" and the more I watched, the more I got sucked in!

Everything was just so beautifully detailed in the landscapes, the grandstands, the buildings, etc. The sound effects - of cars accelerating down the track, along with the sounds of dings, dents, skids, and crashes - are top notch. The best I would have to say would be the commentary when all this is going down. Each race has its own set of rules it seems, and the DRC rally series seems to have a checkpoint system. Watching these cars battle their way down the track is basically like how I imagined in my head, how my Hot Wheels raced when I was 10 years old.

The Youtube channel that goes by the name of 3Dbotmaker knows how to keep you entertained. I also found out you can be a part of the action by becoming a driver and you can also mail them a die cast car or two of your own if you want to be a part of the fun and I actually might do that. the official rules are seen here at www.3Dbotmaker.com.

As I am not collecting actively these days, seeing everyone sharing their models in this thread and the airplanes thread got me nostalgic and i decided to open the storage area today.

That's what over 75 1:18 packed scale models look like. It's roughly polo highline worth of scale models in there.

The lockdown brings out another one of my never opened and never displayed models. Don't remember mentioning about it here as well.

This is one of the absolute gods when it comes to detailing in 1:18 scale models.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting my 1:18 AutoArt Pagani Zonda R in a very very rare plain white body shell. Happy viewing

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Rolls-Royce Cullinan 1:8 Scale Model.

Like its cars, Rolls takes its time building the miniature Cullinan, and customers can customize them to match their real-world models.

Each model is handcrafted to the customer’s specification, with over 1,000 individual components available. That could make the build process take up to 450 hours, which, according to the company, is over half the time the company needs to build the real Cullinan.
