Hi Amit, did the Bugatti come in a plastic kit that you had to put together ? Academy has reasonable scale plastic kits available & in the 90's tons of them were available in plenty here in India.

I have a number of 1:72 & 1:48 scale kits of WW2 & 70's & 80's fighter aircraft. Some of the best kits lie untouched (although every few weeks I'll open the packaging & ogle the tiny parts) since I couldn't source the correct model paint here.

Anyway, would be interested to share notes with people who assemble such kits

Well today I was cleaning my models and thought I have never posted a single pic of my models as I didnt have a Digi Cam, still I dont. I clicked few. Pardon me for extremely poor pics, it was clicked through my N82. I need few tips from Rudra Sir.

First is obviously a Blue Ferrari 348 Tb.

Hi everyone!

My brother and I are India's largest collectors of scale models based at Mysore, South India. Our collection called Autofest City is located in a dedicated building measuring 720 sq. ft. adjacent to our home.

Autofest City has made it to the Limca Book of Records in 2006 and the following year achieved Museum status in the Book.

Autofest City has true-scale replicas of milestone automobiles spanning 125 years of automotive history with many limited editions and kit-built replicas. The focus of our collection is very clear - we collect historic automobiles from internationally popular brands like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, Citroen, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Volkswagen to name a few. We do not look at numbers in the collection but at building informative and interesting displays for each of our models.

Our scale 18 models are displayed on table-tops under hand-crafted glass cases. Within each display are photographs of the real automobile, technical details, highlights, a flag of the country of origin, printed logos, a photograph of the company's founder, a brief history of the founder (if available) and any other piece of interesting information to enhance the value of the model on display. Every scale model at Autofest City has a very strong reason for being there.

We also have created our own series:

a) The Decade Series (20th Century) featuring at least one outstanding automobile from every decade in the 20th culminating with Motoring Around The World, featuring three outstanding automobiles from three major automobile manufacturing continents.
b) The Nostalgic Cinema Series featuring automobiles either owned or used by film celebrities or in films we have seen.
c) The Value Addition Series featuring automobiles which have been customized by us. We have also created full workshop scenes in Scale 18 & 24.

Do visit our web album Picasa Web Albums - Autofest City - I... to view our collection and some of our displays.

I hope to connect with other genuine, focussed collectors through this website. Do write in.

@neiltopaz : I have no words to express what i'm feeling right now... At this point its just feels awesome viewing your collection from my 17" Windows. And one this is for sure that i'm gonna plan a trip to Mysore very soon.

I have some questions tough... What is your major source for these scale models. I mean where do you get them from. Also it'll be awesome if you could through some lights on Diorama.., How about a lesson on Diorama development.

Damm i need to get back to work its been at least 1 1/2 hrs that i'm glued to Picasa...
