A snapshot of my non planted 2 feet tank. Currently I have 5 pink danios, 3 snakeskin guppies, and 3 mollies. All plants are plastic.
The blue vinyl background has come little loose, hence the bubbly effect.

Just browsed that sometime back. Quite a good forum. Thanks for the share. What are the advantages of keeping a "sump" at the bottom..?

It increases the overall volume of tank. Also allows keeping most of the equipments like filters, reactors, scrubbers etc outside the display tank, making it look neat always.

Isn't your tank overstocked? I wouldn't keep so many goldfish in such a small tank. A general thumb rule is to have maximum 1 inch of fish per US gallon (3.75 litres) of water. Goldfish and black moors require a lot of space to move around and they produce a lot of waste too. Also, Angelfishes are known fin nippers and generally don't coexist well with Goldfishes.

Please read up a bit on goldfish keeping. They produce a LOT of ammonia and that poisons the water for the rest of the fish(including themselves). Your tank is very overstocked!! Goldfishes need a very good biofilter where the beneficial bacteria can break down the ammonia to nitrate -then to nitrites which is non toxic for the fish.

Please do a 50% water change each day and get a bigger tank (or reduce the number of fish), you will be doing them a huge favor.

Doing a 50% change everyday will only create stress for the fish as eventually kill them. Your tank is over stocked but there is no reason why you can't keep it this way for a few months before upgrading to a bigger tank. Do a 20% water change every 3-4 days or a 50% every week. Keep looking for a good tank to upgrade in the meanwhile. If you want you can get a water test kit to keep a track of your water quality. I have it but it's just too time consuming. So I don't think you will be able to do it regularly

I really liked the manner in which you have a bowl and those stunning blue fishes

I had a bowl at my place but could not maintain the same. My dad still has a tank which houses some 7 gold fishes, all said cleaning the tank of stains is a tough ask and a fear of breaking the tank as well

Unfortunately I dont have enough space to have a tank in isolation which will have a LED and give that glow we get to see in fishes when they are moving!

I would love to 'duplicate' exactly what you have created in bowl. Do let me know where you sourced it from and who helped in putting it together

Tiger Barbs

Wow, great thread. I just had a question, are the tiger barbs too aggressive? i have a collection of tetras, a pair of non aggressive dollars to which i added small orange gold fish yesterday.
Can tiger barb live peacefully with this collection. I have a small tank of 2 feet.

2ft tank is small for gold fishes.

Tiger barbs are fun schooling fishes who like to swim across long tanks. They are also fin nippers and pesky is what comes to mind :) Keeping them in large schools seem to dilute that behavior.

Silver dollars are docile however they can grow upto 6".

Keep a few different variety of tetras for a tank your size.
