Are you referring to Merwan ?
Thank you latentpotential, Woodland was a given whenever I was in the area on a 'Veggie' day. I would land up after finishing my work at around 5.00 pm and almost always enjoyed the luxury of parking in their driveway due to the odd hour.

That name sounds like it. I can't recollect, except that they had some amazing mawa cake. ;)

Spot on! Merwan is famous for its mawa cake before anything else :)
Kaktus bar & Kitchen, Belapur, Navi Mumbai. Check out this place guys, very nice food, ambience and service. I love this place and keep going back there. Its a nice place to chill out on a lazy day. Try their prawns for sure, specially Lulu prawns. Even the mutton is cooked very nicely, must try. The waiters are very polite and prompt and the Ambience is quite airy and spread out.
Went to Britannia at Ballard Pier today - been discussed a few times in this thread. I didn't eat anything, wasn't hungry - but my wife ate the Mutton berry pulao - she wasn't very happy - first about the fact that all chicken & mutton items were all boneless. She very much liked the pulao and berry part of the mutton berry pulao but she thought mutton itself was average. And the price was rather steep - Rs. 450. Service also wasn't all that good. Inspite of asking the waiter twice to give us 5 minutes to decide he stood his ground till we told him the third time and even then returned in 2 minutes. Water was never filled up without asking. Waiter was also really pushy - kept pressing us to order more stuff. And the service wasn't bad because of the crowds. We went in off peak time and half the restaurant was empty.
I remember having eaten at Britannia 20 years back & I remember being satisfied that time.
Where can I eat really delicious burger's in Mumbai? Hard Rock Cafe are supposed to have delicious ones, are they as good as their reputation?

I have eaten a cheeseburger at HardRockCafe in Pune. It was absolutely the best cheeseburger I have eaten in my life (I have eaten at quite a few places in the US). It's very expensive also.

Hard Rock is good.
Another good option is Sundance Cafe at Churchgate behind Eros
Best burger i have had is at Chez Vous French Bistro, again at Churchgate behind Eros (this is next to sundance cafe).
212 at Worli also serves a fine burger.
Wood fired pizza: there's some chain at Powai. (the name escapes me now).

Try the bacon/chicken/egg butty at Theobroma
I've had it at the colaba branch, and I like it a lot. They have a branch in bandra too if thats close to you.
Its big enough to be considered a full meal, even for a petu like me:D, so keep that in mind.

Its in sector 15, next to MacDonalds.
Two new chain restaurants in Mulund
- Kailash Parbhat - food is just like any other Kailash Parbhat, however service is not that good. The manager seemed to have a huge attitude
- Thambi - opp Nirmal Lifestyle. Ordered delivery from there - the french fries were miniscule in quantity and was easily the limpest fries I have eaten in my life. The dosas were OK without being good. The chatni was also just OK.
My opinion on Mulund restaurants as a whole remains the same - Mulund is where food comes to die (as always there are a few exceptions).
Been to China Bistro at Thane this weekend, must say it is a very good place for authentic chinese. Priced slightly on the higher side, but the quality and taste is well worth it, coupled with good service. Has spacious seating and ample parking space, must try for Thaneites!
Address:
Infinity Shopping Complex, Ground Floor, Majiwada, Pokhran Road 2, Thane West, Mumbai.
You can Google for directions.
