Many thanks. Yes it is an Ajeet. But what the hell its in IAF colours and that is what counts.

I think it was Trevor Keelor, flying a Gnat, who got IAF's first air to air kill(an F-86F) in the 1965 war.

Sorry to disappoint everyone but I really don't where will you can find one.
I am still in the phase of collecting airliners, have to shift to back fighter aircraft soon.

After Googling a bit I also found it on several websites available for preorder like www.aviationmegastore.com

However shipping charges are really high plus 42% customs duty. Narayan you can place a pre-order or maybe you can pick it up on one of your foreign trips.

This is the website of the Dutch Luchtvaart (aviation) hobby shop. It's an amazing shop. A few km from Schiphol Amsterdam airport. I have never come across anything like it anywhere. They carry a vast range of just about every aircraft model you can think of. Ready made and kit form. The also have an excellent range of aviation books. They also sell stuff for real pilots, such as charts, logbooks etc. Last but not least, they have every bit of kit, hardware and software to build your own full size home simulator.

I have spend many, many happy hours browsing this shop, not mention many Euro's.

If you are into aviation this shop is a must to visit if you ever find yourself in the Netherlands!

Sorry, no more shots of the models. But here's some more on the overall museum.

I took a few more images this time, but I need to get back home in order to edit them. The models are just iphone snaps

Enjoy!

Very nice models but the prices are

Last year I also visited the Imperial War Museum and Science Museum in London. Exhibits are amazing but the souvenir shop is probably not the most economical places to buy models.

These modesl are very pricey, but then they are extremelly well made and detailled. My Iphone images dont do them much justice.

Thank you.

I have a matching diecast Iberia A340-600 (our 2nd favorite airliner) in the US also, but someone has to bring to India.

Sounds very neat. In diecast - that's even better. Now which one is your favourite airliner?

Question - I notice you collect different airline models of the same aircraft type. Can you share the reason.

Happy collecting.

I think think mostly everyone's answer would be the same: The 747

I started collecting on a very tight budget trying to get All Airbus from A320 to A380 and Boeings from 737 to 787. However as my collection grew I got exposed to higher quality brands and diecast models. So I try to have at least one high quality model (either a Hogan or Diecast) of each type. Some Airlines have a sentimental value like Pan-Am or TWA or I bought the model on a flight during a memorable trip. Also I try to pick up Air India models and domestic airline models (like Kanchan) if possible. Also recently I have developed an interest in retro livery aircraft which are simple and elegant.

[quote=Foxbat;4373407]I think think mostly everyone's answer would be the same: The 747 [?QUOTE] thanks. In addition to the 747 my favourites amongst he jets are the B707. I just love that wing planform. It was superlative for its era and that's why with new CFM engines the military ones are still in service 65 years after the prototype flew. The most beautiful jet airliner in my eyes was the Vickers VC10. Sadly it was not a commercial success though it was a technical one.
