Thank you sir. I am on the lookout for 1:72 T-72 & T-90MS to complete the modern Indian T-series tank collection
The T-55A & T-90S together:

As confirmed by a former IAF MiG-27 pilot, the wing sweep angle on the Flogger could be set at any desired angle manually by the pilot unlike the Tomcat which had automatic wing sweep mechanism.

thank you for sharing this video of an amazing long distance air journey. I had no idea! This was probably the longest air flight over hostile territory of WW2. The real skill was of the navigators.

The Flogger will look even better with some F-14 kill markings, maybe some decals are available?

Thats a very interesting video, never knew such a long journey was made in WWII.

This Limox Lufthansa A380 is one of the first models I bought, shipped all the way from Germany and luckily escaped customs duty back in early 2017. It has great detail for a plastic model but didn't come with landing gear but I finally managed to acquire some.

The gear fits perfectly although the white doors are the wrong colours.
Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships-img_20200120_170132.jpg

The Limox A380 is of a much better quality than the Skymarks Emirates A380.

Lufthansa 1:200 all with landing gear, all Limox models. I have a A340-600 but its an economy model and is not made for landing gear to be attached.

Congratulations. What is an A380 without the landing gears!! :-)

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. Have not bought a Limox yet.

I would like to add Limox comes in two ranges, one high quality like the A380 and A321 in the pictures and comes with landing gear or has the facility to add them later.

The other is a lower quality one(similar to Skymarks) like the 747-8 pictured and the A340-600 I have. They usually do not come with landing gear or have the facility to add it later but some rare ones do like my 747-8 (landing gear is very basic quality).

The high quality ones usually come at a 30-50% premium.

Re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

Fokker F.27 Twin turboprop regional airliner :: 1:200 Air France :: JC Wings
Wingspan - just under 6 inches; Length just ~ 5 inches

The F.27 needs no introduction to the readers of this thread. It was the Western world's best selling twin turboprop airliner with 792 sales under the belt despite a very small home market. If we include its re-engined younger sister the F.50/F.60 then sales topped 1005 and would have been much more if Fokker had not ceased operations in 1996.

In the history of aviation the USA has only ever license produced 4 aircraft of foreign design. The Americans rightfully are the proud pioneers of aviation and don't go for licensed foreign designs unless it is superlatively better than anything they have. Of the four 3 were British and 1 was Dutch - English Electric Canberra bomber, Hawker Harrier jumpjet, Hawker (BAe) Hawk advanced trainer and , you guessed right, the Fokker F.27.

The F.27 outperformed its rivals the Handley Page Herald, Avro HS.748, An-24/26, Aerospatiale Nord 262 in terms of cruise efficiency and take off ability hot and high with the same payload of 44 to 48 passengers. It did so almost entirely on the strength of its superlative wing. A remarkable testimony to Dutch aeronautical design. Its successor the F.50 and F.60 would have given ATR a run for its money.

The F.27 was made in several variants - passenger, cargo, combi, military transport, coastguard maritime recce.

Last two photos show some of the contemporaries - the British Avro HS.748, the American Convair 580 and the Dutch Fokker F.27. The Convair was a piston engined design converted to turboprops in the late 1950s/early1960s. The Convair has been covered on page 33 post 484. The HS.748 appeared on page 2 post 17.

Obviously, being Dutch, an aviation buff, a pilot and I used to live 5 kilometers from the Fokker Factories at the time.

In all honesty, the correct terminology is "Fokker went belly-up”

Minute home market; the KLM used them for their subsidiaries; NLM/KLM city hoppers and KLM. Essentially these subsidiaries were low cost carriers before that term had been invented. Cockpit and cabin crew had different labour contracts than KLM Cockpit and Cabin crew.

The Dutch airforce used this plane as well and I think leased them to KLM/NLM.
there was even some sort of maritime reconnaissance version too.

Lovely plane, you can still fly them today. I have flown on them many times in various African and Latin America countries. The only plane I was in (as a passenger) with a real accident. We went of the runway in Gabon. (Just the nose wheel, but that was enough for the propellor to hit the tarmac.

Also, once a suspected fire and we had the fire tenders chasing us down to runway somewhere in France. That was exiting too. Other than that, a fine plane!

Another beautifully detailed model in your collection Diecast and 1:200 Scale is the best way to go for these smaller planes.

I was not too aware of this aircraft until I saw this thread, I think I might have seen a few a Zurich airport a couple of years back but not sure. I would assume ATR-72s and De Havilland Canada Dash 8s are considered to be newer versions of aircraft in this category?

Great looking model sir. Congratulations!!! Wouldn't be a treat if JC or someone makes an Indian Airlines livery for that model?

THanks for the photos of the Avro, F.27 and CV580. Always a treat to see photos like these.

I have childhood memories of flying in Vayudoot & East West Airlines Fokker F.27s flying from and to Mumbai from small airports like Diu & Keshod. Never got a chance to fly on NEPC F.27s, but I do remember seeing them in BOM. I also remember those days I used to cut airplane photographs from newspapers and magazines and paste them in a book. That is how I learnt to recognise and airline markings. Over time, it got lost somewhere, how I wish I still had that book.

While we still fly its main rival from the 60s - the Avro HS.748 in light transport role, the Pakistanis fly the F.27 in Maritime Reconnaissance role. The Pakistanis have begun replacing the F.27s with modified ATR-72-500s while our govt is still sitting on the go-ahead for C-295s to replace HS.748s!!!!

As you have hand assembled and painted each of these models your collection could well be the largest of its kind in India. I must compliment you on the quality of your painting. It is very realistic and displays artistic merit. I love your WW-I Albatross. Beautifully painted as are the others. We would love it if you could display multiple photos of your other models for us to admire and oogle over.

Tell us more of that detailed tank. Did you paint it to look battle worn! Did the background come ready made? Often thought about tanks and then stayed with aircraft.

Welcome Basu. Great to have a scale model hobbyist of your calibre.
First of, apologies to you for this very late reply. But I will be more involved from now on and post as many pics as I can

I use an Airbrush for painting, I am glad you liked the Albatross and WW-1 fighters are indeed my speciality and soft spot.

Yes the tank was painted and weathered to look battle worn. The entire background is scratchbuilt using plaster and air dry clay and then painted. The foliage was made using sponge and actual moss.

Sure thing and apologies for this very late reply, One of the reason I didn't post here for a long time was I am terribly lazy when it comes to clicking pics. I will for the time being share some new models I built recently and also click these two aircrafts and share in subsequent posts.

The flying circus, as the Deustche Luftstreitkrafte was called due to the colorful decorations of its fighters.

The three fokkers are E.V, D.VII and Dr.1 - this one being the Red Baron's chariot. And at the end is a Nieuport-17 of the french air force.
