I think these roads were reproduced in NFS 3. The trial version featured unlimited racing on this road.

This is the paved portion of the road. It goes from that to a rally style gravel track (and worse), in a single metre.

IIRC, this was featured in CAR India or Top Gear. Their international arm tested the RR Sport or some Rangie on this road. For all the NFSites, hardcore race-track-experienced journalists came away p*ssing in their pants.

There's a guy that lost his whole family on this road. He now lives there under a sheet of plastic, held up by a few sticks of wood. He holds up Stop and Go signs on the blind corner where he lost his family, surviving on donations from passers-by.

I remember this. Didn't it have a shortcut through a mining tunnel or something? I used to listen to Chase The Sun (appropriate!) while playing this stage a lot, since I never went past for the first million attempts, and now that song is indelibly associated with a Porsche and the south of France.

sorry to hear about this guy. must have been painful experience.

the road looks amazing. the perfect recipe would be a red F1 ferrari, with a parachute at the back & a helicopter at the base with paramedics.
