Re: The Concert & Gigs Thread

Thanks for this thread.

Though not in India, Guns N Roses (reunited) will be performing in Singapore, Bangkok and Dubai in Feb and March, all locations one flight away for most and hence putting it up in this thread.

Def Leppard, Poison, Tesla .. but just the US

But I think this thread should be for India - and may be something close-by that some folks may take a flight out to reach the venue city.

Though not relevant again, but I managed a once in a lifetime experience, literally. I spent about 10 times more to watch him in kathmandu than I would have in delhi. But......Look who took the same flight from Delhi!!

Sorry, I am telling everybody!
AND, I managed to see his gig in a much more intimate setting of about 200-300 people rather that 10000 plus he usually performs for. Brilliant!

^^ Related to that...

A list of ‘demands’ made by Justin Bieber for his India tour is going viral after it was shared on Twitter Wednesday.

The non-negotiables include “a convoy of 10 luxury sedans and 2 Volvo buses” for Bieber and his 120-person-strong entourage.

“10 containers will be flown in with items like a ping pong table, PlayStation, IO HAWK, sofa set, washing machine, refrigerator, upholstery, wardrobe cupboard, massage table that will be used backstage. Arrangements for a Jacuzzi have also been made for Bieber’s personal use to unwind before he takes to the stage,” the list continued.

Re: The Concert & Gigs Thread

U2 in India, finally!

10 years ago, would have been hyperventilating. Now, am ambivalent.

Perhaps I'm just getting old, but haven't enjoyed the last couple of concerts of the legendary bands like I used to - Aerosmith and Metallica in Bangalore. In fact, was positively turned off by the Metallica concert- the way the crowd was treated by the organizers and the way the band spoke down to the audience like we were a bunch of village idiots; of course the audience behavior was not great either.

My favourite concerts have been the sparsely attended ones, Joe Sat in Bangalore was an absolute treat- hardly any crowd. Deep Purple in Goa, another awesome experience primarily because there were no jam-packed scenes.

Not sure if it's worth going to Mumbai, paying those ticket prices and fighting through the inevitable crowds to see a band at the end of their career. That's another major gripe, India always gets these guys at the fag end of their playing days.

But I think nostalgia will win out and we'll end up going. Still not sure it'll be worth it.

Same thoughts even though the prospect is tempting as my accommodation would be sorted since my brother stays in Navi Mumbai. Sitting on the fence at this point. Dont know why they cannot come to Bangalore
