Re: A Guide: Eating out in Pune

Came here to talk about two rooftop places that we tried and liked:

-Adda: on Paud Road, Kothrud just above Rawat furniture
- True Tramm Trunk: ITI Road, Aundh, above Croma

Both are smoking-friendly rooftops with good music and interesting food choices, heavily geared towards the Mumbaikar palate. And the beverages choices are very interesting, especially at True Tramm.

Do give it a try!

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Pune

It being a typical Sunday evening y'day, we wanted to try out something different. Instead of going to the regular 'bistro' types, this time round we went to 'Thaat Baat' yesterday at Balewadi (just opposite Rabindranath International School).
Classical Rajasthani / Marwari cuisine served in a thaali. Weekend price per plate Rs 400, weekday is Rs 250.

Good food, good ambience. Decent place for parking.

Reviving this thread after more than a year. Visited The Pho Kitchen in Kothrud, Paud Road. Had a Combo Meal consisting of the Dim Sums, Rice Paper Rolls, Pho Bowl and Panna Cotta as Dessert. It is a small place but will definitely recommend for the taste.

Oh wow!
I am in love with Vietnamese cuisine (but vegetarian one) as I got introduced to a very good vegan or "an chay" restaurant in Hanoi.

How is the Pho?
There is a Pho Truck near Balewadi High Street and the taste was OK. Their peanut salad was on point though!

The Pho has 3 Base (Soup) Flavours, Classic, Mushroom Broth and Five Spice. You have to choose from these and all the other ingredients were the same. The three soup Flavours were given for tasting beforehand to decide.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Pune

Does anyone know of a relaxed place that has live Jazz in Pune? Used to love the Shisha Jazz Cafe in ABC Farms in Koregaon Park, but they have closed down now. Anything similar anyone knows of?

Also any good, premium places for cocktails? Not looking for places where they blast loud music or have kids dancing and making a ruckus, something nice and classy, if anyone knows?

This is a great approach. Haven't seen this anywhere and it is that kind of idea which just makes sense.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Pune

Baner, Balewadi and West Pune folks; rejoice!

Sante Spa Cuisine has opened up in Veerbhadra Nagar, Baner.
I have heard so many rave reviews.
I will check it out and report or someone who has visited this branch can share their views.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Pune

Puneri Folks,

Soon I will be required to give a partyfor my Son's fantastic results of Std X (he scored 97%) to my wife's side family (extended) comprising of atleast 20-25 persons. I was thinking of getting away with a Durvankur, Vishnuji ki Rasoi etc types arrangement but I am told to look out for better options where the Maharashtrian Thali could be served in a better ambience. Hence asking for recommendations, kindly suggest.

I am open to Rajasthani thali setups too but it will be the back up option.
