A Guide: Eating out in Pune

Try the Saffron restaurant (hotel Satish executive). While coming from Mumbai, after the expressway ends, Wakad police station is on the right-hand side. Take a left turn and head towards Dange chowk. The restaurant is after the petrol pump on the left, before Dange chowk.

It is pretty good. Dal makhani is good here.

You can also try Green Park on Baner road. Great ambiance, good food & its not at all expensive

See post no# 88 - Thai House for Thai food. It is recommended by Sam as well and they have quite a few veg options as well. They serve only Thai food and nothing else.

If you are coming from the Old Mumbai - Pune road, towards Pune, get off the road just after the harris bridge (the bridge after CME) - this road goes below the bridge and goes towards Ambedkar Chowk. Once you get off the bridge, the restaurant is about 1 km away on your right hand side.

Southern Spice on Dhole Patil road - it is very close to the Jehangir Hospital end of the Dhole Patil road. They serve most of the Kerala dishes. It's been a long while since I have been to this place.

Thomson Restaurant near Sai Chowk in Sanghvi. They serve some Kerala dishes like Puttu, Palappam, Vellayappam, Veg Stew, Kadala Curry, Fish Masala, Kerala Coffee, Kerala Dosa, Porotta etc. We go here almost every week.

Thank you Sir. The map is absolutely clear. Looks like this weekend I am going to enjoy Kerala food. My favourite is Veg Stew with Appams!!! Yum Yum!!!

Well how come you have forgot Blue lagoona. Had taken my wife, thr. She was thrilled. The ambiance was excellent , and so were the rates. A small pocket to the wallet, but its worth going.

ooooooooooo! fooooooooood!!!

Some awesome places are
*Casa Lolo (KNP/Viman nagar/NIBM)-awesome lebanese + student-pricing

*Goodluck- you know that one (just don't go to the kitchen)

*Kahwa (Kothrud)- huge variety of hookahs, varied veg snacks, good place to chill..can sit there as long as you want..

*Galaxy grill/seasons (aundh) - killer ambience, killer food except the baingan bharta variety..expensive!

*shishas(KNP)- awesome music, decent food, good shisha and drinks...lovely place to be..

*darshan(deccan)- is just killer! its like the fav place for our family eat-togethers. ;-)

and u have your usual worship places..vaishali, irani cafes, nandus, prems, marzorin, oasis, kivas, george, blue nile, cafe sunrise, ice cream magic(cad b)..

this list could just go on and on and on!!!! being a foodie, its just a awesome place to be! (only wish i dint put on weight goddamit!)
i'm sure alok from pune can add a lot more to this list!

Whats a GOOD place for authentic mexican stuff -- the reason for caps is i have tried it at a couple of places --including flags however the quality and the way its made is horrible and completely unsatisfactory for the money you dole out for them -- any pointers would be helpful
