Thanks.
Yes it has been changed, no subsidy now and the prices have gone up significantly, a cylinder costs around 850rs now.

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

Is there any subsidy in domestic LPG cylinder?

I have not got any subsidy from last year.
But in Guwahati, my folks are getting some amount refund as subsidy.

Why is this difference? I know price of the cylinder varies from place to place but subsidy should not. Or is it incorrect assumption?

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

I stopped receiving subsidies a long time - maybe since 4-5 years. I believe this happened with the PAN-Aadhar linking. The goverenment stopped subsidizing individuals having income above a certain threshold.

And yes the price of cylinders have gone through the roof. Paid 862 for a new cylinder a few days ago. Piped gas is supposed to be cheaper. There's a GAIL piping project in our apartment complex going on for a long time but there's no connection yet.

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

Do induction stoves work out cheaper with soaring lpg prices ? Some folks are switching to electric stoves.

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

Not sure if this is right thread, but got a mail from indane about "smart" cylinders. Basically cylinder made of HDPE with a translucent structure which apparently allows you to see gas levels (?).

At a higher security deposit, wanted to know how safe it would be.

To make peace with galloping prices, we have every sort of gimmick available.

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

And do gas agencies send people to check safety of cylinder installation at home?

They are supposed to do this periodically and they will charge you for this. I had a leaking cyclinder the safety pin of which had dropped. I called the helpline who routed it to the local agency who then sent a chap who does repairs etc independently. It was a Sunday evening and I didn't expect anybody would come but he did. This was in kolkata

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

Just a query, Is it fair that the LPG subsidy be removed without due information ? from a Pan-India point of view that must be a whole lot of money right there (i.e) Revenue to the govt basis the reduced expenditure of paying the subsidies ! This also when inflation is high ! I sometimes feel bad for the lower income group that they are getting slammed in all directions !

Sadly we don't have an alternative to LPG for the kitchen unless we opt to go back to Wood Fired Stuff ! I thought it was voluntary and suddenly gone without as much as a whimper ! So much for governmental transparency ! Just for reference - We gave it up voluntarily but dozens who did not and its their right not to give it up since the whole thing was voluntary in the first place !

For another day - If only enrol and Diesel could be a part of the fabled GST ! ah Day Dreaming !

I had given up subsidy many years back so my information is outdated. Wasn't the subsidy linked with your annual income or something?

Or have they stopped subsidy for everyone?

Absolutely no idea Champ, almost everyone we know has not received a penny for almost over a year - this sadly includes our shared house maid who does for an hour and does work in over 5 houses to make ends meet including fees - She lost it too - when we checked with the agency on why she had lost it they said no AADHAR-PAN Link ! Tried explaining that she ain't got a PAN Card but gave up - don't even know if that's a true reason - filed a complaint with Bharath Gas and nothing happened - so about 3-4 houses give her a 100/150 bucks each whenever she has to order (sometimes we pay etc) to help her out which is once in a few months - She has asthma a little kid at home and we don't want her to go back to firewood !

Re: The Domestic Gas / LPG Price Thread

Indane's websites for cylinder booking never seem to be working:

https://indane.co.in/

https://cx.indianoil.in/webcenter/po...okyourcylinder

I have noticed this multiple times. I use Paytm to book cylinder, so booking is not an issue; I just wanted to check if an address change request I had given has been done or not.

The cx link seems to be working. Alternatively try the app as well.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/91390490.cms

Domestic cylinder prices increased by Rs.50.
I had ordered an Indane cylinder refill on 2nd May. Paid Rs.951 online and got a message that it will be delivered in 3 days. Yesterday, I got a revised invoice with charges of Rs.1002. These goons deliberately held back the cylinder delivery since they knew the prices are going to go up and they can charge the new amount from me. Scoun****s of the highest order. Its not the money, just the cheap mentality of these PSU OMCs. Meanwhile, I still await my cylinder delivery
