The lane outside my office has a myriad number of cables jumbled up on electric posts and unofficial posts as well.
If a few cables come loose how does one identify as to which company it belongs to?
Trucks use this lane occasionally to unload goods at a godown here and needless to say, these cables are a hindrance for the tall trucks and of course the cables loose that war when it comes to that.
Result? Cables hanging loose, broken cables etc etc.
Is there a solution somewhere?
Simplest solution is get multicolor tapes and use unique color for each company. Wrap the tapes at multiple points on same wire for one company.
Alternate approach is to tying wire/rope. The number of turns identifies a company and keep a log of those turns.

Unique query, but just wondering why you would want to ID them? The only time id'ing would be required would be when a connection is broken, and the relevant company's maintenance team will easily identify their own cables.
Yeah if it was broken, someone would complain and the concerned company would come and make things right.
But issue now is that the cables are hanging loose and causing a hindrance to passers-by people and vehicles.
It's just a big mess and i don't want people to start cutting these maverick cables.
