I guess this was the reason why I was not able to share a link to article about 20 minutes ago at 2:25 PM. I thought it might something to do with the link and just ignored it. Everything working fine now though.

It was down for almost half hour for me until a while ago. Kept saying 'connecting' and I was breaking my head thinking it's the network and almost reset the network on my phone.

It was down for me.
Thinking that I am having some issue with phone after an update a couple of days ago, I spent 30 mins behind it. Uninstalling, troubling google with different questions and 7-8 phone reboots.

Then I saw this thread.
How much can an app disturb us !

It was down in India too. I was not able to connect for almost an hour. I did everything (including restarting the phone) then came across the news item that it is down. Now it is all fine

For me also it was down in Germany. Though might be some problem with my phone. I restarted phone after 20-30 minutes then it started working. Now this thread made me realise this was the problem.

Yes it was down for me too, for about 30 minutes.

For about 30 mins it was down.
I was in the midst of a conversation and suddenly it stopped working.
Immediately, I switched on and switched off mobile data connection. No change
Changed to wifi and back, no change
Switched on Flight mode and switched off, no change.
Erased all running applications and restarted whatsapp no change.
Restarted the phone, no change.
After all this, opened facebook and google search, they were working absolutely fine.
After all this, checked with a friend and it was indeed not working.
So then, with no other option we waited. After 15 mins, it was back on; only to be hit by a barrage of messages with the same content that Whatsapp was down worldwide!

All is well that ends well

For those who did not notice that Whatsapp was down -> either you have not joined enough Whatsapp Groups OR your groups are not active enough.

Anyone on this forum with no presence on facebook, whatsapp or other social platforms - or is it just me holding fort for the old guard ? I have to admit I am on linked-in since a couple of years but thats purely for business networking

You're not alone. I'm not on Facebook, Instagram etc etc. I use only LinkedIn for professional networking and WhatsApp (minimal usage).

It's OT but -
- I was on FB for many years but deleted my account in September, because I realised that despite me consciously not responding or engaging with many posts and people, it was still a cause of stress, and I decided to get rid of it
- I was on LinkedIn but stopped logging on years back, when I realised that my employer was also there and monitoring employees
- I have a skeleton presence on Twitter and, since September have been trying out Instagram
- Since the beginning of this year, I exited close to 95% WhatsApp groups I used to be a member of

Basically I have consciously been either reducing or becoming very selective about my overall social media footprint.

By the way, do you know that the teenagers nowadays hardly use any of the above? They have their own networks which my generation hardly has any clue of.
