Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

I usually browse through any topic that interests me. Majorly, I browse the Commercial Vehicle section and Reviews section for my hobby and Indian Car Scene and International Automotive scene to keep myself updated on the happenings of the auto world. I hate bikes and biking, so I don't remember if I have ever browsed that section.

For a bit of fun, I do love the weird and wacky mod jobs, the tastefully modified cars and Jokes thread

Team BHP home page is always in one tab if I'm on PC, no matter at work or home! My tbhp browsing pattern would be like,
1. Home Page > Hot threads, if something strikes there I'll open that in forum and browse through the reply posts.
2. Forum > New posts
3. Subscribed threads
4. Classifieds.

I normally begin at the homepage and skim through the Hot Threads to see if there are any new travelogues, since I love reading these and then making my own plans to visit these places.

Sometimes I also directly land up on the Initial Ownership page to read about new cars that fellow BHPians have bought since I enjoy reading about their buying experience and the reasons they had for choosing a particular car.

I also regularly check the Ertiga Official Review thread and reply to any new posts there, since this car is our daily driver at home and so I see it as my duty to at least provide my perspective to fellow owners, since I am too lazy to write out a detailed ownership report!!!

Interesting way of finding out what people do

My way of surfing:

Home Page

If interesting news- go to news- if still interested- go to forum discussion

If no interesting news - see for interesting hot threads

After this check out GT TSI review thread, Ciaz and any other latest post threads

Every morning first thing in office with a cup of coffee

I open the following sub forums and then check out interesting threads in them
My order goes:

The Indian Car Scene
Official New Car Reviews
Test-Drives & Initial Ownership Reports
Long-Term Ownership Reviews
Motorbikes
Superbikes & Imports

Last I check the main page to see for any other interesting news/hot threads.

1) Browse through the News, right click and open the ones that interest me on a new tab
2) Browse through the Hot Threads, right click and open the ones that interest me
3) Go to Forum, New Topics and open the ones of interest
4) Go to New Posts and open the ones of interest
5) Now that all my tabs are open, I read through them one by one

And thats how I surf on team bhp!

I go to Homepage

Check Latest News and open them in new tabs

Then Hot threads and open them in new tabs

After that I go to forum and look at my subscribed threads

Sometimes I randomly read threads/articles that I see listed below the one's I am currently reading.

My browsing pattern is ... no pattern!

To begin with, I almost never go to the home page. I always land on the forum page first (which is bookmarked in every browser in every device I use).

And I browse all threads top to bottom, and read anything that catches my fancy. There are some that I visit less frequently - like the travelogues and route queries section, and the gadgets section. But apart from that, I end up looking at everything at least once in the day.

After that I look at new posts and open a tab for those that take my interest

2. Shifting gears -> Gadgets and computers ...
3. Forum -> technical stuff, Travel Queries, Travelogues

I like to surf the website from top to bottom. I start with hot threads, reading the content and replies. Then I read latest news, followed by car reviews and travelogues. I visit here everyday, refreshing the page to get some latest news or reviews!

Nothing very different from what has been mentioned by others. Only point of interest is that I have a different pattern in a laptop and in mobile.

On my laptop, I start from home page, look at hot threads and news items. Then go to the forum section and go through new posts first and then look at the subscribed thread list to check if I missed any when going through new posts.

On my mobile, I don't go to the home page at all. I go to the forum and there also go to the User CP first and then new posts.

No real reason for a different pattern between devices. Just a quirk I have.

3) Initial ownership reports
4) Travelogues
5) Indian car scene

T-BHP is a tab that is always ON during post lunch hours in my laptop.

My desktop/tab browsing order is as follows
1. News >> Latest >> Most Viewed
2. Hot Threads Carousal [5 Image scroller on the top]
3. Hot Threads List [18 topic list on the right]

My mobile browsing is mainly as follows
1. Subscription Email newsletter
2. Subscribed threads on forum [Reply as and if needed]
