Sometimes some Virus-spywares drag your CPU and make your system slowdown like a hell, here is a simple solution to find what is attached with your browser when you start you p.c and fire your browser.
First go to this site SpywareInfo > Browser Helper Objects (BHOs)
and download BHO Demon, run it and it will give u a list of files linked to explorer, there are normally 2 safe ones that are connected to Adobe and Symantec(maybe more if u have different progs installed rather than Acrobat and Noron a.v,in my case Acrobat is there but not using Norton/Symantec coz I hate it).
Mostly culprits may be like below as per some users reported in some forums,

*D4GL.DLL which can located in the windows folder
*ee20.dll
etc...etc...
Good luck and I hope this may help members to find if their CPU is acting like a cow milked out completely!

Also to add, under normal usage current cpu's should run at 400-800mhz with downclocking. the chart should show around 5-10% usage unless you are gaming or using some cpu intensive applications.

Good piece of information ECM.
My cpu had 4 files linked to it acrobat,googletoolbar,norton,spybot-search & destroy.I disabled nortan one coz i had uninstalled it almost 2 yr back.

You may also use the Process Explorer provided by SYS-INTERNALS (and now acquired by microsoft and hence from Microsoft) to check what processes are running, and the related handles and dlls loaded as part of the process. It is very good tool to diagnose / debug the OS. Check out this link Microsoft TechNet: Windows Sysinternals. There are lots other tools / utilities which are free downloads.

thanks for passing the info :)
