No i think he is refering to DUEL directed by Spielberg. Kurt Russell movie is BREAKDOWN.

A GREAT movie. I think this was the first ever Marilyn Munroe movie I saw (I must have been 10 or so). I was totally mesmerized by her breathy (well, dumb-blonde-style) way of speaking, and of course by the way she looks.

And I think this is perhaps the very first movie with two crazy guys dressing up as women. I now have to watch it again today

Other "buddy" comedy movies with Walter Matthau & Jack Lemmon (some like it hot has Tony Curtis with Jack Lemmon) are also great. The ones I remember most are The Front Page, The Odd Couple and the more recent Grumpy Old Men.

I am looking for "Amu - The uncut edition". In theaters the movie was heavily edited(censorship blah blah), but it has been released in uncut DVD form, atleast in the west

Thanks fore reminding me gautam.

After watching movies like some like it hot, sunset boulevard and sabrina, i decided to watch all movies of director Billy wilder available at my dvd library.

i watched Avanti, One, two, three & stalag 17 and liked all of them... very nice watch, in fact i have watched avanti and 1 2 3 twice already, just love the humour and the dialogues.

tifosi.

Stalag 17 is a gem! Highly recommended.
In that genre, The Great Escape and Escape From Sobibor are also very good.
In The Valley of Elah is another GOOD watch.

i have watched the other movies that you had suggested long time back, no doubt that great escape is a classic, and escape from sobibor is a nice movie, but i dont remember them being as humourous as stalag17 and at the same time conveying the travails of the pow.

regards
tifosi.

@ Tifosikrishna - I agree. I meant POW movies in general. Hart's War. Another good one.

Just finished watching " Death Proof".

Exquisite Tarantino stuff. Some nice muscle cars in it as well.
