Correct the good thing was unlike Argentina they didn't loose hope and were trying hard to convert each n every chance even with 10 men. I think Argentina will definitely do a comeback after watching this game.

Sweden never bothered to attach right from the beginning. They were just trying to defend their goal. Germany had 70% of ball possession. Germany knew that their defence is untested with just the new man Rüdiger and Boateng. There was no Hummels or Khedira. So they were all out offensive in their attack and this played well for Germany.

Don't char me to death, it's just a wild thought. Now that we have seen many a matches, I would like to compare the quality of ISL and Indian football to the world cup.

Somehow or other, I seem more glued to ISL than this edition of the world cup, maybe mostly because of "parking the bus" style of defence by many a team. The ball is not being put much into the "corridor of uncertainty", not much corners are converted, lots of shots get off target by whisker, and miss-passes are happening with many a team. But definitely counter attacks are superb in the world cup.

Maybe it is just a feeling, but I feel India could have beaten this Saudi Arabia. Saudi is 5th in Asia and India 14th. Saudi is 67th in the FIFA ranking and India 97th.

Maybe we should discuss this in the other football thread. Would definitely like to see Sunil and India in a World Cup!

England whipped Panama pretty bad. Their greatest strength was in their ability to convert set-pieces, which has been the norm for them, in this WC. Panama's inexperience kinda showed in the way their players committed one foul after the other.
