England sitting off Modric and Rakitic now, that couldn't possibly end well. Alli doesn't appear fit, got outrun by the aging Modric a couple times.

Croatia appear to be the fresher team with the clock ticking down. The power-napping in the first half helped I'd bet.

Lovely build-up play, England were asking for trouble sitting off Croatia in midfield. 10 mins to chase it to penalties now, after having led in the 5th minute.

The England keeper could not judge till the last minute, which way the ball will pass.

England got the results they needed to get where they did, fair enough, but never really looked champion material. Their goal tonight their only shot on target, sums up their game and their campaign perfectly. Absolutely zero threat from open play, and you don't win entire tournaments simply from set plays.

Bright side, a really young team with some untapped talent so they can kick on from here and try to make a statement at Euro 2020.

Edit: Absolute travesty if Kane gets the golden boot, after all the world-class goals we've seen this tournament. Glaring example of stats not telling the whole story.

Nice game by Croatia.
I believe the game should be enjoyed in a mature way. But the posts by a couple of members in this thread has been downright pathetic to say the least. And they call themselves senior BHPians.

I'm happy with the result. It's going to be a tension free final. Neither team is my favorite nor is any of them a team I hate. I do hope Croatia wins though.

Looks like the song by Freddie Mercury and the Queen was dedicated to the 1966 final only.

France clear favourites now. They are fitter and in better shape due to the extra day off. Croatian players will be jaded now after such an effort.

The likes of Pogba, Kante and co. will run circles around the aging Croatians. The French have all their bases covered.

If playing full-strength sides, Belgium are better.

Could've been finalists with a kinder draw, which they honestly should've had for winning their group. Either way, gave me my favorite game of the tournament vs. Japan and topped it off beating Brazil.
