Guys,

Which is the best business magazine / publication / website in India? I just realised that I spend an awful lot of time reading up long-form business stories on NYTimes, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes & Fortune (all USA), but not as much on Indian business publications.

Who writes the best stories on Indian business? Any magazines you subscribe to & strongly recommend for their insightful & well-written articles?

Thanks in advance!

Other than business magazines, perhaps the only website that offers long-form business stories is the newly launched ET Prime (Rs. 2,500 per year)
https://prime.economictimes.indiatimes.com/

I haven't subscribed to it though, because I only read business news (and prefer to do the analysis on my own :) )

For daily business news, I go to http://pulse.zerodha.com/ - it is a news aggregator, but is better than Google News. Of course, there are other usual suspects like CNBC, ET etc too.

Business world is one of the best, IMO. Brief and precise with their stories with very little bias. Been reading it for 13-14 years. It used to cost Rs. 10/- then.

I still like the old school way of reading from the print rather than digital.

For Business articles, interviews with Senior Management, other India Business stories: Business Today, Business India, Outlook Business.

Financial Markets Research: Capital Markets, Dalal Street Investment Journal. (But these two are mainly for equity investments).

Started reading the Ken recently and am pretty impressed with the depth. One article/ even less per day but a really well researched one. Around 2500 INR per year if I remember correctly.

Business Standard. Their paywall articles, 7 out of 10 are good IMO. They also have a good roster of international journalists writing about stuff that is usually not found in Indian business papers nor foreign based. It's owned by Kotak Mahindra Bank as on date, but their reporting is the least political unlike others who blatantly publish needless reviews of a political party's achievements as a regular PR rigma-roll.

Financial express is the second best.

Business World, Business line, ET follow in order, but are more advertisement carriers (see above) than insight from economists or punters as we like to call them.

Thanks guys!

I tried it for less than a day. It was JUNK.

If you had to pick 1 out of these?

Love the-ken. Have been their subscriber since they began operations :thumbs up. That's the kind of stories I'm looking for. Any business publication in India that matches it?

Just what I was looking for. Thank you! Will subscribe. Best part is, they're throwing in access to the Wall Street Journal too clap:!

Among these three: Business India

Moneylife Magazine is what I subscribe to. It is now an entirely online magazine.
Used to deliver physical copies every fortnight, but that is stopped.

Sucheta Dalal is the Managing Editor of Moneylife magazine.

WSJ currently has an offer: $1/month for three months.

Checkout The Ken - https://the-ken.com/. I'm one of their earliest subscribers. In my opinion there is none to match their quality of business journalism in India now.

But a bomb after that. Getting a WSJ subscription with Business-Standard is far cheaper.

Curious to know - Did you get a chance to read the new recommendations? How has it been so far?

Liked some articles on business-standard. The fact that it comes with a subscription to Wall Street Journal makes it a no-brainer. Then Business India at a distant 2nd. I found Business World to be junk.

Wish there was a Team-BHP on the Indian Business Scene.
