What adds even more value to this is the fact that we are an "open" community. Unlike most other forums which require you to register before being able to view threads / posts, Team-BHP allows guests full access to information.

Today i was browsing through the list of members to find a member. I noticed most of the members haven't posted atleast one post. Also there were many who did not login after registering or did not not login for more than an year.

Can we do a clean up job to remove all the member IDs who never posted and did not login for more than an year? You can send a prior notice to the member to login once else the account will be deleted. Hotmail does this.

While I appreciate your idea. Please dont compare us to Hotmail!! thats a money spinner "for profit" business. and we are an enthusiasts forum, no money anywhere involved. No restrictive trade practices please.!
maybe members who have not logged in or posted even once will regret having lost out being a part of this forum, when they see how big our forum has become, and the wealth of info in it!! even car mfrs will value whats discussed on this forum in times to come.

Please don't view my suggestion as being a commercial interest to this site. My point is we would save server space if we cut down inactive members and have more accurate data. Anyway that's up to Admin and his team. I am a regular here for more than 2 years and i am having fun.

Satish, that's a lot of work without any tangible/visible benefit. The server space occupied by inactive members is very very negligible when compared to the content we have.

Besides, vBulletin software doesn't have a member delete feature. The only option would be to go to the database and do SQL level cleanup. To do that one has to be very aware of the software's database design, you don't want to create any inconsistency or corruption.

congratulations to everyone!!

satish:> we ve had classic cases of members posting after over a year post registering, so this will just dampen things.

i myself have bumped into someone ver recently while i was fying back to bbay who was a member with hardly any posts.
This guy knew names of the regulars, about the infamous diwali meet etc, what happebed next?? he was this very silent member at the last speedrun meet at sealord!! beat that, probaby the highest tbhp meet till date.

manson.
