AXN banned for 2 months. Moral policing is back.

AXN don't run in our area due to our cable operator :( However I condemned such decision from I&B ministry. They should not ban anything which is non-pornographic in nature.

Wherever they do but In Chennai they can't remove AXN for sure..

becasue we already don't have any channels like HBO, star, espn, discovery, AXN, etc etc...

thats what tata sky is doing.. even though the cable operators are showing it sky refuses to.

unfortunately we are ruled by sexa/hepta/octagenerians who finished their life 30 years ago. and then there are sentimental fools who will do anything in the dark corners of the city, but will kill each other the moment these things come in public view.

these same moral police folks drool over anybody they see in public, let alone the ones who are ready to show it to them for money.

I guess they are worried about spoiling the future generation, they forget that future generation belongs to future.

AXN has definately been banned. Just because some of you are getting AXN doesn't change the fact that it's been banned. There has been a lot of newsprint and a lot of discussions on "government's high handedness" on many news channels. It's a wonder you haven't come across all these news reports and tv coverage on the same. I don't know how some people are getting AXN and some not. We all know how good both local and central government's are in execution of laws, rules and regulations here. I, personally, am not getting AXN from January 15. For those of you who are still recieveing the channel, consider yourselves lucky because you are NOT supposed to get AXN for the next 2 months.

I started this thread and if you go back to the first post on this thread you will see that a link has been posted to the The Times of India news article on the AXN 2 month ban issue. This thread was not started based on rumors or hearsay and a authoritative newspaper article's link was provided for the same reason.

I think if all channels become paid, people should have the choice to pay for what they want to see. If you're conservative or have any opinions against a channel, well, don't buy it ,, but imposing a ban on the channel and curbing the viewer's discretion by some moronic ***** in government is nondemocratic in nature..
Moreover for viewers interested in explicit content, there is no dearth of avenues.. Also they could have issued a directive to ban the program but nor the entire channel.. I miss CSI, House etc.. IMO this is by far the most blatant display of coersive authority..

I have both cable and Tata Sky at home. AXN is available on cable but not on Tata Sky. If I switch to AXN on Tata Sky, I see a message saying it is banned due to government order. Therefore there is no question about the authenticity of the news.

i had AXN running till last night on CAS now from 21jan it does not work and this suxxx.i feel this place sucks if u are not a VIP and if u are on god this country is heaven from you, i'm saying this because i have lived both the lives here and seen it all.

there are soo many issues bothering our society every minute of everyday and here we are stuck with GOONS banning channels on television.

they are making sure our tax money pays them enough and more to ruin our lives!!! SCREW the I.T revolution!! this country is beyond help!! wayyy beyond help!!

why dont we just hand over india to dubbya bush and call it armageddon!!!
