i suggest you also check out the Hero Genius also marketed as Adidas Genius.

Are you saying that Trek and Firefox are the same thing in India?

yes, Firefox's website has a link that re-directs you to Trekk's international website.

I think Trekk is re-branded as a cheaper FireFox here.

A FireFox dearler would also normally stock the expensive option, that is Trekk.

From the Firefox website

Trek, an iconic American bicycle brand, has just unveiled its high-end bicycles in India and Firefox Bikes, the exclusive distributor for Trek in India, would be distributing Trek bikes through its exclusive network of Bike Stations

Does anyone know anything about Firefox? Are they an Indian company? I can't find any information about Firefox selling bikes outside India.

Got a Hercules Atom MTB with 18 gears couple months back. Cycling was never so much fun - and it seems to be a head-turner too.

Firefox/ Trek

Firefox is an Indian company which outsources design from UK and gets majority of its cycles manufactured in Sri Lanka and Malaysia and then sells them here. They have started importing also to some countries in EU.

They are also (probably) the sole importers of Trek from US, so majority of bike stations run by Firefox or its dealers will have Trek bikes as well.

I know a lot of folks who use Firefox, and they may have a few niggles more than Trek. If you have the dough, Trek anyday will be preferrable, esp the cross terrain bike which is awesome for Indian road conditions.

If I remember right Firefox India showed the Bianchi-killer Trek race bike in Auto Expo this year.

I doubt about this. I do remember Firefox has their manufacturing unit in Vadodara, Gujarat. One of my collage mate's father used to work there.

Trek is an American company and Firefox are distributors of Trek in India. Firefox bikes are simply no comparison for Treks. Though, for the components that they come with, the Trek road bikes are over priced.
But disregarding price, a light and well set up bike is a joy.

Wanted to give all the bikers on TBhp a heads up on the TfnTen - the Tour of Nilgiris 2010 edition. Registrations are likely on open on June 1st. The ride's longer, more scenic and a little more challenging than the last edition - mostly since all the newbies thought it was pretty easy So 1000kms or so this year - over 8 days.

Here's the links:
Site: Tour of Nilgiris | Experience Nature On a Bicycle! (not updated for 2010 yet)
FB: Tour of Nilgiris | Facebook and Tour of Nilgiris | Facebook
Twitter: tourofnilgiris (tourofnilgiris) on Twitter

So who's planning to ride it this year ?

I have seen some very nice looking Btwin models of mountain, city and the hybrids in Decathlon ranging from 9k-25k. Anybody who owns this who would like to give some feedback?
