I am truly looking forward to the match today.

Rooting for the Bangla tigers to do what the Afghans just missed out on.

Cheers, Doc

Bangladesh have more to play for (in terms of pride) and hence might be able to beat Pakistan.

And if Pakistan try and do what Sarfaraz is saying here, it will be a fun game.

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has said his team will try to score 500 runs against Bangladesh in their 2019 World Cup match tomorrow. "If Allah helps, miracles can happen...It's like you score 600, 500, 400 on a pitch, then you can think to get the other team out for 50 and then win by a 316-run margin," he added.

Sarfaraz should keep yawning. It gets much needed oxygen to the brain.

On a normal day this Bangladesh team will beat this Pakistan team.

Pakistan is currently fighting it out with Afghanistan for the wooden spoon of South Asia.

Cheers, Doc

Actually, I think NZ are lucky to have qualified. IMO Pak was the 4th best team in the world cup and unlucky to have not gone through.

Sarfraz must be smoking something of a really high quality to make such absurd statements. I dont see them scoring 500 even against Iceland let alone Bangladesh who have a relatively good bowling attack. They will be lucky to even make 300.

Btw, I wish Bangladesh wins the toss and bats first. Pakistan will be the first team in history to be thrown out of world cup by losing a toss

NZ team is like students who study whole year and fail in the exams. Pakistan team is like unexpected distinction holders who neither fail nor top the exams.

All that talk can become a possibility only IF Pakistan bat first.
What if Bangladesh win the toss and bat first ?

Serious answer - If Bangladesh score 1,200 and Pakistan chase it down in 2 balls, they will qualify.

This "mercurial" tag for Pakistan is a couple of decades out of date.

Also, "mercurial" is angrezi for tukka.

One (a very small one admittedly) part of me blames the Pakistanis for robbing us Indians of a England-Australia type legendary rivalry.

For the past two decades they have been so embarrassing that every time we play them I am simply cringing at the prospect of losing to such a pedestrian bunch.

They have come a long way from the legends of yesteryears. And are a microcosmic reflection of their nation and its collective psyche as a whole.

Its no secret that since the turn of the century, India-Australia has been the marquee contest in world cricket. India-Pakistan will continue to be purely .... India-Pakistan of everything else.

Cheers, Doc

Just out of academic interest:

What if Pak scores 320 and BD gives a walkover/all getting retired hurt without scoring anything?

I hope this is a cracker of a match. Pakistan should score atleast 400+, if they have any chance of qualifying.
In this position, Pakistan should not be bothered about just winning or losing, their aim should be to reach 450runs, its not Impossible.

6 overs done and the run rate is close to 3.5, I don't understand this approach by Pakistan, they will need to fire from Ball 1, if they need to get close to 450.

Edit: Fakhar Zaman is out with a strike rate in the 40s!! Ridiculous!!
