Ok, I changed my mind. I will take the rains.

Guys! Guys! Will everyone here stop sobbing at the drop of a wicket for crying out loud! I mean is everyone here ready on their keyboards as soon as a wicket falls? Give it some time. Don't predict us losing even before we have batted enough. Please!

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

Overconfidence in full flow. The cricketers on the ground, the commentators on and off the field. Even on the hotstar app, VVS Laxman, Ganguly and others were gushing praise on the Indian team, except for some neutral statements by Sachin.

So far Karthik seems to be doing the proper stuff, play it like a test match till the new ball is done.

Lets see where this goes. All eyes on Dhoni. His method of play, which got a lot of flak over the past matches is going to be the key to today's game.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

Absolute disaster in the first few overs themselves. Doesn't even remotely resemble a cup wining team till now. And here we were celebrating till moments ago that this was a low score posted by the Kiwis and should be easy enough for us to gobble. All hopes now on young Pant and Karthik. They really need to see off the seaming new ball and then build the innings. It is still an eminently achievable target if they can keep the remanning wickets intact for the next 20 overs.

Annoying background noise of some people talking ( possibly inside the commentary box) on Hotstar English. It is extremely annoying, more so in these tense moments. Anyone else experiencing it?

DK gone!

Now it's very unlikely for India. Dhoni still not out on field?

in 10 overs, we lost 4 wickets. Looks like men in blue are in a hurry to wrap the match up :(

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

25-4, can we get Kapil Dev back now ? We need a counter attacking innings like the one Kapil played against Zimbabwe when India were 17-5 (and Kapil scored 175 all by himself!) in the 1983 world cup.

The situation is tailor-made for Dhoni to play his tuk-tuk innings. First Pant, then Karthik and now Pandya coming before Dhoni is surprising tactics.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

Even Ganguly in the commentary box is puzzled by absence of Dhoni like all of us! He pushed himself up in 2011 WC though.

I am sure there must be a valid reason. All ex-players have strong opinions when in the role of commentators.

Well, if MSD cannot take up a batting role at 5/3 and 20/4 then we do not need him in the team.

Harsha conjectured whether Dhoni's nursing a finger injury

It is more prominent in English, not in regional languages.

If India win today due to the effors of Pandya and Pant, Dhoni should retire before finals.
