Our office in ITPL also closed by 330. there were rumours of stone pelting near Dell/TCS in whitefield, but on my way back did not see any such thing- Also NO cops were to be seen except on hoysala in front of SAP labs which was there because of a very bad accident between a hyundai terracan and a tempo traveller.

We were also advised to leave for the day at 3.00pm and have also been told not to come to office tomorrow and work from home, if we have something important.

Looks like Bangalore have been a very soft target for these people to get noticed worldwide.

Outer ring road Sarjapur area had some noises etc., but more or less peaceful, atleast that was the situation around 6pm.
For people who get stuck near marthalli if there is any problem take the back road via belandur lake. This passes quite a bit through air force/HAL area and is a safer route to airport road.

We shut by 5 pm.. but don't know what the fuss is about.. because there wasn't a single incident on route thru old madras via KR Puram and then onto Indiranagar.. and yes, also no sign of any police presence.
when do we come to know about this bandh thing tomorrow?

I own an apartment near belandur junction, was chatting up a couple of friends from that area. So I thought I would pitch in.

All bus services from Karnataka and TN to each other are cancelled.

People from TN living in Bengalooru- some advise for you:

1. Dont use any TN registered vehicles on road

2. Be cautious speaking in your native tongue in public - especially around sensitive areas such as Mysore Road and central BLR.

3. If you're using autorickshaws - definitely avoid speaking in Tamil (e.g: on your cells). Either speak in Kannada or Hindi, preferably Kannada. Auto drivers are active when it comes to these situations.

4. Avoid travelling-especially avoid walking in groups and speaking in your native tongues at the same time. You'd be an easily visible target

5. I would suggest you take off from work and stay put for the next 3-4 days

It looks like this time repurcusions are going to be hot - inspite of the police presence. I'd expect them to be far hotter than in 1991. Be on your guards.

All Tamil speaking people were the recipients of forceful agitations by our local Kannada groups, under the-then CM Bangarappa. It resulted in lot of violence against these people/their properties and a lot of them were forced to go back to TN. BLR was devoided of civil labor during that time with most contruction projects grinding to a halt.

I have a relative who works in the DCP's office on Nrupatunga Road. She claims that the cops think its going to be extremely violent this time

They are thinking of filing a review petition. They might wait for the outcome before beginning the circus.
