The re-uniting of the boyracer and his lancer.

It's been more than 2 years. The decision came suddenly. I had this vision on sunday that I am done with Toronto. I am done with my exile from driving.

I pack my bags on sunday. Get my identity unlisted on monday and I flew on tuesday. Felt great. to leave the struggling life.

It was 6-30 in the morning. 17 degrees and clear weathers as announced in the India airlines flight. I landed in Ahmedabad. Got my bags and came out of the airport.

After 10-15 mins of Karan Johar style sentimental Family values exchange, we headed towards the car.

Dad had told me on phone that they will bring in the wagonR coz its better to store the big bags in the boot and also that my cousin was marrying so they needed the car for some reason.

As soon as I saw the red lancer basking in the morning sun, My face turned as red as my heart ad I just ran and kissed the spoiler. I was talking to the car for a few moments.

We set the bags inside the boot and my dad tossed the coveted keys to me.
I walked towards the door with excitement.

I hit the button on the remote and the doors opened tick..tick.
I opened the door and sat on the drivers seat. There was this feeling I had missed for so long. Cant explain what it was. I grabbed the steering in my hand and talked with the car for a few moments.

All settled. I put on the seatbelt and switched on the car. The car purred like a pet in his master lap. a 5 sec break later I hit the stick in first and felt the rubber turn. I was driving my lancer now, after an exile of 2 years.

Now that is one helluva experience which I wouldnt want to wait for again.

Pics to follow soon.

Never tried.

The driving test system is very complicated and different than in US.

Plus the insurance is killing for a student like me.

HOly cow, that sounds more like two lovers were reunited!! Well written and welcome back, Devarshi. Seems like you decided to return on an impulse.

Time to start modifying the Lancer?

I understand your feelings Dev. Every time I land in India, I head straight to the drivers seat and my parents are always saying...oooh you are not used to Indian traffic...but I'm having none of that.
