Yes I do. Add Sad Sack and Dennis The Menace comics to your list.

Further:-

Remeber when your car did not start, you had to insert a lever into a hole on the bumper to yank the engine to life with quick rotatory motions?

Remember when you thought you were King Kong when you were able to kick start a Lambretta?

Remember when you got reminded of a dog pissing on a tree when you saw someone starting his Bajaj scooter?

Remember when you had to pull a knob on the dash to start your Ambassador? Who wants push button starts?

Remember when speedometers in Indian cars were in Miles per hour?

Remember when people were measuring distance in furlongs and miles, and making payments in annas?

Re: Remember when.....

- Wednesday evenings were spent eagerly waiting for "Chitrahaar" with "Over to Bombay" Slide put up before the start of the programme and "A Bombay Doordarshan Presentation" at the end of it
- Friday evenings awaiting eagerly for "Oziyum Oliyum" (Chitrahaar's Tamil avatar") with your neighborhood kids (the ones who did not have TV at home) also dropping in and shouting when they show a song from Rajnikanth's movie
- Waiting eagerly for Sunday morning 9 AM show "Walt Disney present's" followed by "Ek Do Teen Char"
- Waiting for "the Carpet" to be shown before the start of Transmission followed by unveiling Doordarshan logo and we kids not getting bored of watching it over and over again

Hope some one has not posted these earlier - some of them for old time Bangaloreans

a) Remember when we saw the first cricket test match in Bangalore - 1975 - on a black and white close circuit tv with no clear images and could not figure out who the west indian bowler was as everyone looked alike - dark and tall!!

b) Remember when one bye two coffee and a cigaratte was the heavenly experience

c) Remember when Bangalore had many circles/round abouts with fountains and garden in the middle.

d) Remember when going to St Francis Xavier church in Frazer town, Bangalore from school was considered picnic!!

e) Remember when there was seperate queues for trains for booking the advance reservation tickets.

f) Remember when you had to book a trunk call and wait for two hours before connected and then start shouting "Hello, Hello"

I thought it still is a heavenly experience. It sure was, until about a year back when I quit smoking.

Re: Remember when.....

@samurai: 32 minutes is amazing , would love to see how you do that !

Somehow i always preferred AOE-1 to AOE-2, although i used to like the trebuchet in AOE-2. Never played the rest of them.

@addyhemmige: Caesar was another game that we used to spend hours on in college. Would be fun to start with, but then some houses would get stuck and not upgrade no matter what we did , but still we would come back and play it again

Thanks, I could never break that myself. That was 19 years back, when I was in my prime. In the late 90s I ended up with RSI (repetitive stress injury) thanks to all the gaming. I had difficulty tying shoe laces thanks to that. I managed to exercise my way out of it, even changed the design of my work table. Now I only use L shaped table at work and home, for the elbow support.

Re: Remember when.....

Remember the times when you got those airmail letters from a relative in "Foreign" ? Couldnt wait to peel the postage stamps off those white covers with blue and red marks at the edges.. Boy, I was a stamp fanatic.

Someone even told me that I could diseases by touching those postage stamps / envelopes ( as you'd not know who all touched it and what all countries it passed through ) to help me rid the stamp collecting habit. I couldn't care less about all that : we still rummaged the "postal" waste of small companies or govt offices
