In the same Amby, there used to be a pull switch operated light in the bonnet.

Remember when we used to get $ 8($ eight) to travel abroad.(Until seventies)
Remember when we used to get $ 500(late seventies/early eighties) for your trip once in 3 years under foreign travel quota)
Remember when to go on a business trip you had to apply for release of exchange days before.(blanket permit was for registered exporters with an export turnover beyond a specific limit)
Remember when the only credit card available was Diners and it was for the elite.As far as I remember the annual fees were rs250 in the sixties.

Remember visiting the cycle repair shop quite often to fill air in the tyres with a hand-pump and getting the punctures repaired. Other most common ailment in the cycles used to be the loose chain, which kept on slipping.

Typical accessories of the cycles which i used to notice and hated to be put on my cycles were - a foam-vinyl seat covers, rubber handle grips with bunch of ribbons and audio cassette rolls, Colorful brush kind of a thing to be tied around the wheel hubs, paddle covers, mud guard flaps for front & rear with pictures of actors & actresses like amitabh, sridevi, madhuri dixit, mithun, dharmendra, sunny deol, sanjay dutt, anil kapoor, govinda etc

Remember when each and every house in the locality used to have atleast one Bajaj scooter in the house. When there is a gathering, we searched for any previously unseen colour Bajaj scooter and judge it. Then after LML and Kinetic Honda were launched, their owners were treated in the same way as Maruti 800 and Maruti 1000 customers were treated in the age of Premiers and Ambys.

Remember when MTV and channel V played non-filmy songs(in nineties).The groups like Euphoria,Band of Boys,Partners in Rhyme(of chandni raatein fame),Silk Route,Guns n Roses,Ace of Base, etc. with soloists viz Suneeta Rao,Alisha Chinai,Nitin Bali,Alka Yagnik Janet etc ruled the roost

Very true, Gone are those days when we had good songs being played, I remember there used to be timings for Rock and metal shows and these days both MTV and V are trying to compete with star's family sitcom's I guess even VH1 is following the same.

You Missed 'RANGOLI' which used to come on sunday mornings. I remember everyone of us in my family woke up early that day to catch the show.

Here's one.
I remember once in my dad's Fiat(PP actually), when we went for a petrol fillup and found that papa had forgotten his wallet at home.
And we still managed to get 5 litres of petrol using change lying around in pockets and in the car.
