Jeremy Clarkson all the way. Totally bowled over by his new 'Top Gear' presentation. These people come out with some really innovative comparisons of cars with something cool around.

Consider this. Comparing a Lotus Elise with an Apache 64 Attack Helicopter.. Jeremy, You Rock.

Don't watch too much TV. But of what I watch, I like Nisha Pillai, because I watch only BBC, Discovery, History Channel, Star Movies and HBO. Not necessarily in that order.

J Clarkson is a class act....Others I like are Vijay Amritraj, Richie Benaud, Ravi Shashtri (if he can be called a presenter, and I watch less n less of cricket these days),
Jay Leno (hilarious!)

Rtech, I agree with you completely. Apart from considerations like making the company angry, I think our presenters get overawed with the cars, especially if they cost more than (say) 15 lakhs. Perhaps it is beyond their capabilities to find fault with the cars. I have seen Clarkson make a mincemeat of the S class and the Hummer H1. Just give the same cars to one of our presenters and see what happens.

I love Clarkson because he is able to some up the car in just a couple of sentences. The era of the truly bad car is coming to an end (at least in developed markets like the UK), and the factors that separate them have become more subtle. I saw the comparison between one of the Astons and another car, and it was a close match - both being really worthy of anyone's money. Ultimately, the deciding factor came down to how the owner would be perceived in the car.

For the same reason, I am sick of the 'structured roadtest' - the kind that you read in Autocar. Too little attention is paid to qualitative factors that might be involved in a car purchase. All attributes are neatly compartmentalized into 'Design and Engineering', 'Ride and Handling' etc. While these factors are important, is it really what a car purchase decision is all about?

Although I think Tiff is god, I have voted for Jeremy. He is more of a presenter, he is often wrong, but always a hoot!!!

jeremy is my choice overall.though i hate him for being very biased towards british cars,i feel every presenter can get few tips from him.and that every presenter is in one way or the another trying to imitate him!!

JC all the way...hes got an uncanning nack of attracting TV viewers to see what he is upto. He is immediately followed by Tiff, though I have not seen a lot of him, his driving skills are second to no-one amongst the TV hosts.

Quick Question : Did Tiff Needell also race in the British GT championship? Cause I vaguely remember his name being mentioned in one of their telecasts.....

He used to (still is??) race Lister Storms in some championship, can't quite remember what it was called though. Must be the British GT championship, not the BTCC, I think.

Tiff Needell has a long history of racing behind him. He has been a driver for Aston Martin, Jaguar and the amazing Lister Storm among others. What the hell, he even raced in Formula 1 for Unipart Racing Team in a car called Ensign Cosworth N180 in 1980.
Here's a quick look at the career of Tiff Needell.

Jeremy is great fun to listen to, he is total entertainment .. the way he puts his concepts forward...
but watching Tiff driving/drifting/powersliding is also fun.
But I vote for Jeremy bcoz if I want to see driving skills I'll watch BSmotoring , Tsuchiya drifting jap cars etc..
Jeremey is great time pass and that is exactly what a TV show should be .
