Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

Its been 10 days now without the gym & I can see the amount of weight I've gained around my midriff ! This inspite of the fact I've been eating similar food as before. Tried working out at home, but can't seem to go beyond 10mins due to no real intensity.

In the meanwhile, have been passing time by watching tv, surfing the internet, etc. Have cleaned my cupboard & re-arranged my clothes. Today onwards plan to clean all my shoes.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

Hey guys, I was reading this thread a week or so ago and I saw something after that which I felt may be relevant here.

Scribd has recently made their library freely available for 30 days(without entering any credit card details, or other commitments). I hope this may come in handy to some of you.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

I do travel a lot. Especially between Mumbai and Dehradun. For last twenty days I'm in Dehradun and can't travel anywhere in near future.
Got some decent time to work on upcoming TBHP review images.
Frankly it was a pleasure working on my fifteen years old machine. Trust me it still works like a dream.

Other than work, catching up with my decent collection of movie DVDs.
I'm from old school and never thought of ripping them on hard disks.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

I've given a laptop to my 7 year old daughter. I'm currently teaching her the most important skill to survive called "MS office". Started with MS word and she's learning various keys like ctrl, shift, enter, capslock so on and she's into typing few paragraphs from her favourite books in MS word.

Cheese and Onion bread

Made cheese and onion bread today. Use whole wheat flour (atta) and pepperjack cheese, mixed with some Amul cheese. Came out pretty tasty even though i say it myself.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

(Not related to a safe recreational activity, but I didn't want to clutter up the main Coronavirus thread as there are docs putting up some good posts there and those should have increased visibility.)

I really wish we could use this situation to eliminate the spitting-in-public habit a lot of people in our country have. Went to get some groceries yesterday and people are still spitting on the streets! Of all the times this should be one where people think twice about that, but no, the amazing habit continues! Along with all the other restrictions, government should tell people to strictly not spit on the roads. And the 'non-governmental enforcers/corona-shamers' can target those who do!

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

WFH Day-4:
  • Conducted an awareness session in almost 60-80 houses in two shifts.
  • Used the bicycle to commute throughout the day for the above.

This was called upon by our company's management to instill a sense of security among residents of the township. This is a remote location and doesn't have medical facilities available in big cities. Also most of the people living here are on a posting far away from home. The exercise aimed at informing them the measures being taken to control and manage the situation and a request to all to maintain good hygiene and to strictly follow the self-imposed quarantine for the next two weeks.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

During the lockdown my father started installing wallpapers in our rooms. It was a long pending work with all the required products in hand. One room took two days.

He did it completely solo

Inspired from your kaara bun today tried home made plain bread. Looked, smelt and tasted better as compared to previous attempts.

Looks like a job done well. Kudos!

WFH Day-5:
  • The AC circuit board needed a replacement, took pictures after dismantling it and sent to the guy for sourcing.
  • Finished writing the Khajuraho travelogue

WFH ends today 2 days short of a full week in view of the 21 day lockdown announced yesterday. 12-hour shifts from tomorrow to rest other colleagues. Ours is a polymer manufacturing unit with an integrated LPG bottling facility. The plant has got to run.

Re: Safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic

I just watched the Hollywood movie "The Conatgion". Honestly, no where even closely impressive as our own Indian movie "The Virus" ( Malayalam movie). The latter is more "real" with very less dramatization. Kudos to the Kerala film industry.
