No, the popular conspiracy theory is that these are the people who are no longer living. You can now connect the dots given the time overlap and draw your own conspiracy theory.

Mobile numbers declined = people who used them died. (atleast that's what the general perception is)

China has a population of 1.4 billion and mobile subscribers of 1.6 billion, so as per conspiracy there should be very high number of unaccounted people in China around 600 million. That’s half of India’s population who is living undetected by the Chinese government! People who are having more than 1 mobile connections are giving up the subscriptions due to economic turmoil, that’s all.

What's the reason for that connection, or perception? There's a couple of reasons mentioned in the articles themselves.
You mentioned your belief that they have not reported a sizeable number of fatalities. Why do you believe that?

It's just mistrust, based on the past record of China pertaining to information suppression.

Plus we, in the armed forces are told, trust a snake, but not the Chinese. But I suspect that's an army thing, not applicable to civilians.

The lockdowns around the world has highlighted not only the leadership skills (or lack of it), but also the nature of the world we live in! Within in the very same world, we appear to be sort of worlds apart -

On one side of the divide, we have New Zealand -
Quote:
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was turned away by a cafe on Saturday because it had reportedly reached its full capacity due to the ongoing social distancing norms amidst the COVID-19 pandemic gripping the world.
On the other side we have much of rest of the world...and a very strongly felt India where the restaurant/cafe could have lost its license and the restaurateur jailed for sedition!

As Srisiva mentioned above, it's not only lethargy but the Indian govt and it's citizens have only wanted to fill their pockets at the expense of everything else for the last 50-60 years. In doing so, the concept of working for the greater good, the country and ones fellow citizens has gone for a toss. There is no concept of transparency, ethics or any kind of accountability. I do feel however that our current head of state is far far better than his predecessors but unfortunately one man can only do so much.

The State govts will now start bowing/negotiating to/on the demands of wealthy businessmen who run restaurants, malls, construction etc and in the next week most businesses will open up. The builder/businessman-politician nexus will be in full force over the next few months with all of them trying to recuperate their losses. Since there are no firm guidelines on the restrictions and SOPs for these businesses and the central govt has left it to the State govts, accountability of decisions will not exist. In the event that there is a spike they will blame each other and move on. No damage done for either. It's becoming a game of smoke and mirrors. Fasten your seatbelts folks!

So, what is the plan for lockdown 4?
Go out and live your life? Is it because it's a Sunday, or does the government of a 1.3 billion population also feel that EOD means the same as it does for a business?

The nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 31 with several relaxations and the government will announce new guidelines for the next phase shortly.

Instead of that May 11 appearance, PM could've done something today.

Like someone said earlier, even the virus is confused on how to get out of this lock down.

They will be waiting for 12.00 midnight, because they have to be very efficient! Have to make it like a thriller, keeping citizens on edge. By 12 most will be asleep, so any unpleasant decisions won’t take your sleep away. I have feeling there won’t be any televised address today.

Karnataka extends coronavirus lockdown till May 19.

The letter by the Chief Secretary directed all department heads, deputy commissioners and superintendents of police to ensure that all lockdown regulations be imposed strictly "until further orders or till the 24:00 hrs of May 19, whichever is earliest

Karnataka did not foresee the extension of the National lock down and has issued the statement prior to that.

Now they have to follow the Centre's directive and abide by the New guidelines for Lockdown 4.0 that will be issued shortly
