And yes, I am from the Hunter quadron of NDA and that's reflected in my handle too. Are you associated with NDA too?
Thanks for the best wises. The only difference is that we had triplets. Three boys, they are almost 3 now. They are a handful!!

My best friend was in the Hunter Squadron while he was in the NDA. So thought to ask you. My first cousin is in the Army, he was commissioned in Dogra. He is a Major General currently posted in J&K.

Take care and enjoy this moment with your son and wife.

Congratulations to the proud parents of Dhruv. What a way to narrate a heartwarming tale of grit, persistence and love. I have to say this is the most unique account of a real life event I have ever read in Team-Bhp. Thank you for sharing it with us brother

Being a doctor myself I can fully understand the struggles you and your wife had gone through. I was shedding tears with joy when I saw the picture of your son. I have 3 kids ( 4th one is on the way!) and I can relate to your euphoria of holding your son for the first time.

All the best buddy. Take good care of your son and wife.

Re: IVF: A few precious eggs, a million reluctant sperms & a medical miracle!

First of all congratulations on being a father!!!!

I can not thank you enough for sharing your experience here, this has been an eye opener for someone like me who is into 3rd year of marriage.
We have both recently turned 30 but have no plans of a child yet, we still feel we are not "there" yet in therms of our careers and finances to be able to be parents. Honestly speaking, I am not ready mentally too. But certainly in a few years we would want to be parents. And this write up has been a real eye opener for a layman like me who has just read about IVF and seen it in hospital bill boards.
I have massive respect for people in the forces, and this thread made me realize that you face challenges not just on the job but also at the same time what life throws at you on personal front.

Huge respect!!!

Re: IVF: A few precious eggs, a million reluctant sperms & a medical miracle!

Firstly, welcome to parenthood! I would say, this is where life really begins.

That said, been there, done that - My wife and I went through the pretty same roller coaster ride with multiple IUIs - and we were based in Singapore then. Thanks to a local family friend and a well known expert on IVF, my wife moved back to Coimbatore in June 2012 and she got pregnant in the first attempt via IVF.

The journey was another story though. But to cut to the chase, our bundle of joy arrived on the 5th of Feb, 2013 and he is now a 7 year old car/bike nut.

Congratulations once again and enjoy the journey. Kids grow up very fast these days

Hi gentleman, this is such a beautiful thread. I never expected to read about IVF in teamBHP and I feel lucky that I ran into your thread. I was always a very average student in biology and I never knew that IVF is such an exhaustive and meticulous process, thanks for enlightening us. And I'm also in awestruck for all the superwomen out there, they really have to go through a lot physically and mentally as compared to us male counterparts. Respect for women has further gone up. I wish you and your family all the happiness and a healthy life.
Cheers!

I was deeply moved by your story. The pain, anguish, highs & lows all were floating in front of eyes. The words were simple and concise, yet brought tears !

Congratulation to both of you and thank you very much for sharing!
