Re: Will home-office become more popular, even after the virus goes?

If this happens, it not only will benefit companies in terms of cost saving, but also:

1) To the employee himself in saving fuel, cost of running car / bike.

2) Main thing is this will benefit in curbing air pollution and lessening the burden on Mother Nature and earth in bearing our loads on the road.

3) Reducing traffic means it would make a lot of free space for emergency vehicles such as the Ambulance as I have seen most of them getting stuck in a long jam putting the lives of the needy at risk.

Downside is management expecting the individual WFH to not go on sick / planned leave much

Hope the companies take this seriously for the greater good and implement this.

Regards

Re: Will home-office become more popular, even after the virus goes?

My work location is on ORR Bangalore and honestly wfh is a boon for me given the dreaded Bangalore traffic. A 5km drive from Sarjapur Road takes close to an hour in peak hours. My Company has been using WFH more as a cost cutting solution for many years now instead of leasing more office space and it also keeps employees motivated by offering flexibility.
