Do folks here think gearbest is a good place to get stuff from? I like that they have this priority shipping line that costs just a dollar more but promises delivery in 10 days.
Any feedback anyone ?
Amazon. Com was flawless. 9 day delivery flat out from the us customs paid. Thanks guys. |
Regular with gearbest nowadays. Main reason was I was building a quadcopter and I sourced most of the components from them. Chose priority line all the time and assured delivery within a week of ordering. They also provide reward points for everything which can give you good discounts on multiple orders.
Aliexpress has a bigger product profile mainly because it is an online marketplace whereas gearbest has everything in its own warehouses. Hence, each have their own pros and cons. In case you require reliable shipping on ali, choose Aliexpress standard shipping/HK post/European options like PostNL, Swedish post and so on. China post is the slowest and least reliable of the lot.
@Nicky you can lodge a complaint in pgportal.gov.in under department of posts.

So 15-20 days are normal for any delivery, even if the delivery period says 7 to 10 days? Thanks for the information, its helpful. |
Well, take a look at this order that I had placed on 20 February.
It has been over a month and the item has gone from Hong Kong to Germany instead of coming to India.

I need help from the users of Deal Extreme (dx.com). I made my first order, and now after few days, its saying all items have been shipped. Now as per the graph shown, now its asking me to Confirm Receipt. Can anyone help me what does it mean?
As I think if I Confirm Receipt then it means that I have got the product. I am attaching the screenshot for reference. Thank You.

The package is on the way, and you can confirm it after you receive it and make sure all items are in order.
if your order was above 15 USD you will also get a tracking number and you can see the progress.
Typically the package will reach in 30 - 45 days time
Placed an order on Amazon for a filter.
Tracking details show that order details shared with courier at 6:54 AM!
I ordered the damn thing at around 10 AM!
Did Amazon find out that my filter was dirty and proactively order it for me? :Frustrati

So after Letsbuy, seems like FK will buy Snapdeal as well. |
Flipkart has acquired ebay's Indian operations. A report in TOI says that in spite of this acquisition, ebay India will continue to run independently. Full report at
http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com/A...11042017001048.
Closer home, Bengalureans living in and around Jayanagar, J P Nagar, Koramangala, Indiranagar and BTM Layout can shop for fruits and vegetables from HOPCOMS online. A new website
www.hortibazar.in will soon enable customers to get the items home delivered, subject to a minimum bill value of Rs.250.
PS: The site is currently not active :Frustrati.

Now that FK has been forced to buy Ebay, it is unlikely they'll be able to afford Snapdeal as well.

Have had a couple of nice bargains from SD. Not found much of interest on FK of late. Wondering how they will shape up after getting eBay and if they take SD also.

Yes, but that email surfaced before the FK funding announcement. I imagine the SD founders were unaware of the FK discussions with Ebay (except what was speculated in industry press - which only said FK will consider Ebay if the SD deal failed to go through).
My thinking is this: FK needs this $1.4 billion to fight Amazon who's committed to $5 billion. It will be total disaster for them if they used this money to buy SD and not focused on their own bottomline.
There will be some collateral damage. Microsoft is putting in money to force FK to use its Azure cloud platform - that might hurt Netmagic, for example.
Anyway, will FK succeed in keeping Amazon at Ebay? Only time will tell.
Edit: Here is an analysis that says acquiring SD also will be utter bewakoofi on FK's part -

Correction - MS is not forcing FK to use azure, they have happily signed up for it as poster boy in india during recent visit of Satya nadella. Nobody have forced anyone .
No doubt i failed to order a note 4 in recent sale with website displaying error as "something is wrong" too frequently when using chrome:uncontrol .

Actually the press release says Microsoft is a strategic investor and that FK will use Azure exclusively. I based my observation on that.

No worries. Azure deal was announced first and investment some 2-3 weeks later on.
Between i am amused with Amazon delivery. For a shipment from delhi to Noida ( barely 20 Kms distance ) below is tracking. they keep bouncing from delhi > sonipat > noida>delhi
somebody is making business by bouncing these packets unnecessarily perhaps.
