Re: The Online Shopping Thread

I ordered a 3M microfiber cloth on Amazon.in a few days back, and got it for Rs 240 (MRP on site was Rs 270).

Received this:
The Online Shopping Thread-originalmrpvsseller.jpg

Went through the complaint/customer service headbang/return/refund rigmarole. Disappointing experience overall.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Paytm is offering some good discounts. I was looking at buying Aircons and there is a good 20% cashback on some good brands. Do check them out if interested.

PS: I am not associated with Paytm.

Has anyone used this site - https://www.flybhp.com
I was looking to buy wiper blades and saw their website link via an eBay seller post.

I have been noticing most deals online these days are fake or clearing old stock. I was disappointed that pepperfry sold me a two year old manufactured Ao Smith water heater for about 200rs less than prevalent in a local store. Had I been aware upfront I was getting a shelf item I wouldn't have ordered it. Have to henceforth be doubly sure of the value of a deal before purchasing online going forward. Same with Amazon. Ordered juices that kids carry to school, items delivered were packed in May 2017. Online price was 10% off, not worth IMHO.

If any online site which does not respond to any query, I never buy from them. They never responded to my queries which was simply about spark plugs which I ended up buying from Uk even cheaper then them.

While browsing for engine oils in Amazon, found that they were selling the same oil for 2 different prices!!

Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 (Fully Synth) :

Here for Rs.4,700/- & here for Rs.3,400/- (and the second one had an offer running where it was being sold for ~3,100/-).

Actually there are more, if you check the right hand side section, under sellers.

Direct link - https://www.amazon.in/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

This happens for a lot of products where there are more than a few sellers.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Hi Guys,

I need some pointers on this - I'm thinking of ordering Mysore Paak online (sitting here in Germany), which website or vendor can I use within India? Price does not matter, should be the best quality with prompt delivery. Need to ship it to Delhi. Can anyone here help me?

Thanks in advance.

You can try these guys

https://www.placeoforigin.in/tsearch/?q=mysore%20pak

I like the idea they work on and am secretly hoping that they are working hard on onboarding partners.

Do you fancy the TN (Coimbatore) style of Mysore Pak (dubbed MysorePa)? If yes you can try http://www.srikrishnasweets.com for online ordering and delivery (only in India). Have not tried their services though.

Edit: One more option. https://www.bigbasket.com/ps/?q=Mysore+Pak

http://www.placeoforigin.in specializes in getting you food, sweets, pickles, snack items etc ordered from various famous shops in different cities.

If you want Kayani Bakery Pune's Shrewsbury Biscuits or Pachranga Pickle direct from the original makers in Haryana, they're your go to portal.

Another understated Mysore Pak option is the the one from Nandini / KMF (milk supplier here in KA). Unfortunately, not many know about it. Should be available with most online retailers OR someone can ship it easily from Bangalore to Delhi.

Nandini/KMF has recently launched an online portal for selling its products. However, the delivery seems to be limited to Bengaluru only. Plus, they charge a delivery fee of ₹30 and a convenience fee of 2.5% of transaction value in case of online payment. The minimum order amount is ₹250. Here is the link for purchasing Mysore Pak.
