A camera package from Aliexpress is stuck at Customs Kolkata for the past 8 days. In my entire Aliexpress shopping history, I have never seen a package take this long for customs clearance.

Anybody else facing similar delays lately?

AliExpress. Two separate packages, ordered 20th October, China Registered Mail, arrived together today. Trackable almost door to door. And customs just past them through. only USD20-something each anyway.

Amazon from USA can be slower than this, and more trouble (not always) so I'm impressed.

Thats a good timeline for delivery.
I have had a good shopping experience with Aliexpress for many years. Only recently, one package of MI Band 2 straps did not reach me within the stipulated 60 days. I raised a dispute and they refunded the amount. It was worth some 2 USD anyway. But it was still refunded. Quality is suspect though. You get what you pay for.

For items shipped from Amazon US to India, what is the cut-off value for customs duty to be applicable ?

Now Flipkart gets shafted on the other side too:

(Some parts of the story are hard to swallow. What self-respecting business allows its executives meet with known criminals?)

I'm looking for a high capacity powerbank 10,000Mah or even more

I had purchased a couple of AData 10,000mah powerbanks and they are not working properly and I'm sorely disappointed with this brand

Any suggestions and deals around?

I brought my first adata power bank in 2015 and since then i have brought one more and recommended this brand to many of my friends and relatives also. Both of mine are still working fine and I haven't heard any issues from any of my fiends' and relatives.
I have also brought one 20000mah Aukey powerbank (http://amzn.in/bR9SRxN) as i wanted one high capacity power bank. This is quite bulky compared to adata, but from what i heard, Aukey is one of the top brands in mobile accessories. I have Aukey car charger and Aukey magnetic mobile holder. Based on my exprerince, I recommend this brand.

Have been using the Xioami 20000mAh powerbank and so far so good. Charging time is on higher side (7+ hours) due to its high capacity. Very heavy and comes only in white color (dirt magnet). Managed to get a silicon case off AliExpress and it is now protected.
The powerbank can be charged along with any other devices connected to it, this feature comes in handy a lot.

Today postman came to deliver parcel ordered by family member. Since I was not in the loop, I disagreed to accept the parcel as it involved payment of a duty of approximately INR1400 for a transaction of $ 23, which was assessed as of value INR 2900. Also attaching a photo of duty assessed paper which does not have any stamp. Anyone having any experience paying duty, please advise. The parcel was opened and the duty is at 41.184%.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a good battery tester/voltage reader from Aliexpress of Gearbest? Looking to get one, but too many choices out there to make an informed purchasing decision...

Thanks. Aukey is 3.1K for the 20,000mah. Isn't that too expensive?

I mean, there are many brands that come for about 1600/- for a 20,000mah

I brought it from US where it costed me around 26$. But, I think, even if i had not brought it from US, in general i am ready to pay premium for products from brands like Aukey.

Few months back, I have paid about ₹950 as customs duty for a product costing $31.5 and surprisingly estimated by customs almost correct as ₹2250. In your case, atleast you have a properly filled up printed sheet indicating all the details from customs. In Chennai, what I had seen was, some details scribbled in a sheet of paper; and the funny thing is we have to return that sheet to the postman! ie.) no proof for us.

You can give a try with the Customs, if you have time and also considering the related expense towards the visit to Customs Office. Personally, I do not have any experience with Customs for clearing my things from their office. One thing you have to note is generally sellers in sites like AliExpress 'under value' the cost of the items during shipping (mentioned in the cover). So better check with your seller asking what was the total cost of the item indicated in the package including shipping.

But then, what I have read in google was, you may be asked to provide a proof for what you have paid; If you can provide a satisfactory proof, Customs have cleared the items with 'NIL' duty or in some cases with reduced Customs duty.

Check out the Mi Power Bank Pro

10000mAH @ 1499 INR is a pretty decent deal for the features offered.
