Looking at the scratch marks on the image it appears to have come from a shoddy polishing job. The marks are kind of concentric suggesting whatever made the mark was spring around a fixed axis. Marks from a scrubber would have made spiral or uneven marks.

Just a few remarks:

1. How would you then explain the clear scuff marks on top right of the image I had shared earlier?!

2. The concentric marks have an apparent 'axis' which is off-centre with the casserole body! How do you think an automated polishing machine could be set up to achieve such marks ?!

3. I have now uploaded an image of scratch marks inside the first unit I had received (and then returned for replacement). The suggested automated polishing machine axis would have to be located outside the casserole body to create such marks! How do you propose to set up a machine to achieve such marks ?!

The only way I think such marks could have been created was through one-off manual efforts to clean up something before returning the items for refund.

4. I have also uploaded an image showing clear scuff marks and just one of multiple dents outside the first Casserole.

I have a whole bunch of incriminating photos showing evidences of scrubbing marks, scuff marks and dents both inside and outside both the casseroles. I think Amazon have been smart to just accept my words and refund my money.

I think this "Great Indian Shopping Festival" is not all that great. Though I can see some good deals, this particular one makes me feel this is just click bait. I have been eyeing a Galaxy S24 Ultra. List price was Rs.135000, current price during festival Rs.122000. The same was retailing around Rs.105000 before the festival and with Amazon pay credit card it was about 99k.

Hike price by X%. Offer Y% discount (Y<X). Make out like bandits.

Story of every e-commerce 'festival'.

Exactly, I had kept a foot massager in cart which was selling for 13k odd. Today I see it is 19k.

Samsung Galaxy S24+ at 69,999 in Flipkart seems too good to be true. The price in Samsung official site is 99,999. Not in the market to buy a phone, but this is too damn tempting :). Am I missing something here?

And I did buy iPhone 15 for 50647 when it was retailing at 64k before the sale. So, there are some items which got 'real' deal during this sale.

Just got scammed by a Flipkart Cash on Delivery scam .

How it happened:

My wife and I had ordered 7 apparel items from Flipkart using my account on 27-28th Sep. (I generally don't order from Flipkart at all, but I had a gift voucher). All of it were paid online using credit card/gift voucher.

All items had different delivery dates, some yet to be delivered. One Delhivery service guy turned up today with a package labelled "..women apparel..", said that it was Cash-on-Delivery and insisted on payment before opening the package. I got initially suspicious, but wife had gone to work so couldn't verify with her. I thought that one of the 7-8 items got ordered by CoD by mistake. I did the cash payment of rs 780/- and he left. When I open this is what I see

Others have written in Reddit, how they also got scammed. And it happens only with FLIPKART. There is an obvious systemic issue with Flipkart - your phone number, address and orders are getting leaked - and they are doing nothing to fix it. When you order multiple items, you are likely to assume that you made a mistake in one of the orders and they are exploiting this.

Similar incident happened with me as well. And I hardly buy from Flipkart but the courier service was Delhivery.

I told him I don't have any orders on COD and I rejected the delivery. Dude simply marked it as rejected and grumbled so many similar rejections and walked off.

Informed family as well not to accept any COD couriers without confirming with me.

So I was window shopping for hot wheels cars and found a site which was selling most of the cars for actual MRP and not jacked up prices like is prevalent in many sites.

But minimum order for free shipping was a bit high so I closed the cart and went about my day.

30 mins later i get a message in whatsapp. It was from that website and said I did not complete my purchase (well, d-uh!) and that i can complete it now by clicking the link in the message!

Thought it was absolutely ridiculous.

Did you put your phone number before closing cart, it is very common even for reputed sites to do the same, either whatsapp or email.

Yes, I had to give my phone number before the final payment page where it calculated shipping.

Felt intrusive.

Oh well.

Ya it is intrusive for sure, but such is marketing these days. This though might not necessarily be a scam.

It is marketing and sometimes they throw in a coupon or discount to convert the order. Not a scam.

Noticed an interesting & unexpected thing today while ordering on Amazon.

Context : Tried ordering a book.

Amazon Mobile App :
Logged in with Prime account
Cost Rs.512
Delivery by 20th Oct
Amazon Web App :
Logged in with regular account ( Not Prime )
Cost Rs.468
Delivery by 17th Oct.
I was always thinking Prime members get priority delivery and price advantage. Anyone else noticing such difference ?
