If ferrite core is not that important would a simple USB extension cable work?
My aim is to get the Android Auto working and then go wireless using the Raspberry pi DIY.
Understood. In which case use a extension cable from a reputed brand even if it does not have a ferrite core.

Thank you so much. I have been searching for this for a long time.

One additional query: The short one doesn't have a ferrite core. I hope it won't matter.

Ferrite core is used to cancel out interference from other electrical sources in the car like alternator, HID ballasts etc. As long as you do not face any connectivity issues with a non-ferrite core cable, you should be good.

I use this and its top quality

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

I never believed in these but today i was the victim of this scam - ordered a 65inch sony tv from flipkart and they sent me plywood. It was thankfully open box delivery - the package has been taken back - now waiting for my refund - its been more than 2 days now and I have lost all hopes and trust on flipkart - its better to take a day out and shop offline.

More importantly, who is the seller?? If you could name and shame them that would be of great help.

More than the seller, this looks a delivery partner scam.

What was the delivery guy’s reaction?

This is height of duping! Will stay away from Flipkart for big appliance purchases.

Its been a while since i shopped from Flipkart as a lot of known people were a part of such scams. I myself wanted to get a 65 inch TV and found Vijay Sales to be really competitive in terms of pricing and the delivery/installation experience was really good.

Hope this resolves soon for you.

Ouch. That's a bad one. Hope you are able to get your refund soon.
On a lighter note, imagine the care it would have been handled with (marked fragile) all for a sheet of wood.

Seller: HSAtlastradeFashion

The delivery guy wasn't very surprised , he took a video and took the package back.

The real nightmare is now getting a refund from flipkart - all they are doing is asking for time when it was an open box delivery, their person verified everything, I don't understand why are they taking so long.

I have posted it on all social media and I request if you guys can support my posts and share it so that more and more people can see it. I feel flipkart is the culprit here, they have a chance to fix it by issuing a prompt refund and an apology but all they are doing is asking for time. Thus I have lost all faith in them. Won't be buying a single item from them again.

The thumb rule, especially with high value online purchases - open box delivery or otherwise - is to make an unpacking video showing the seals on the box and then moving on to unwrapping of each layer, finally revealing the product in full. That way, one is safe from any questions that might arise in the aftermath of discovery of frauds such as this.

The forum is witness to a number of cases of subterfuge from online sellers. However, this plywood plank hits hard, both for the innovative approach, as well as for the underlying irony. For, would it not have occured to the fraudster that the skeleton will have to tumble out of the cupboard as it was clearly an open-box delivery?

As regards the refund, Flipkart is perhaps waiting to zero in on the culprit before processing it. From Flipkart's point of view, everyone involved in the sale - seller and buyer included - are on it's list of suspects and until you, at the end of the purchase matrix, too are cleared off, the refund is unlikely. The pilfering of the TV could have happened at multiple points and to fix accountability, it is necessary to find where. Flipkart isn't a saint either but in it's eyes, you too aren't, YET. An unpacking video would have hastened and simplified the process.

Please do understand that I am not imputing any malafide intentions on your side, but just deconstructing the process for you. The refund will certainly come, but will take some time. Meanwhile, if you have the unpacking video, please share it with Flipkart as well as on all the sites that you have posted your experience on. Will help accelerate the wheels of justice.

Best wishes.

Edit: The video posted on Facebook appears to begin halfway through the process and hence might not have passed muster. Please post the full video if you have it.

It's funny how the first part reads: HS At last. :-)

Was it Flipkart Assured?

The delivery guy .... took a video and took the package back.

I have had a somewhat similar experience with Flipkart just a few days back. I've been a long time customer of Flipkart Grocery. It used to be very good value until recently, when they stopped selling perishables (like dairy products and such), and started hiking prices of other products. I was also impressed with their 'sealed' box deliveries.

A few days back the contents out of one such 'sealed' box was one item short (worth hundred some rupees). I immediately noticed it and pointed that out.

The delivery guy then put the items back in the plastic box and re-sealed it with plastic ties before opening it again while shooting a video which he then uploaded in their system! In the process, the value of their 'sealed' box delivery became apparent to me!

He then reassured me that a refund for the missing item would be processed by Flipkart and I'd get a confirmation.

I then accepted the remaining items, but was made to provide the OTP meant for the complete delivery! I did that in good faith. But the delivery confirmation only came the next day, with no indication about the missing item!

In the meantime, since I'd received no immediate delivery confirmation, I had also talked to their customer service, and was assured that they would investigate the matter and get back to me in two days.

The next day I did finally receive a message assuring me of a refund for the missing item in two weeks! I'll wait and see how that goes.

Contrast this with Amazon, who inform me of any missing/ problematic items either before delivery or just after, and automatically start processing the refund immediately.

I have decided to discontinue with my Flipkart VIP membership when it comes up for renewal in a few months.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Anyone else suddenly receiving such threatening emails from Amazon? While I admit we do have returns, we are very early customers of Amazon and our GMV is impressively high.

They can go take a hike if they actually 'block' our account.
