At least they don't call it a "convenience fee!"

Not yet introduced for Amazon Fresh, thankfully. Flipkart is not so generous!

But then, Amazon Fresh requires a minimum order amount for free delivery (even for Prime), whereas Flipkart doesn't (at least for V.I.P.).

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

funcorp.in

Saw a nice hotwheels car selling at MRP (Almost all other sites were selling this at inflated prices).

Added to cart, saw shipping charge was Rs.200. Seemed high, then read that for orders above Rs.699 it was free.

Searched and added another car to make the total above that.

The site splits the order and adds Rs.400 and Rs.600 as shipping charge!

Rage shut the laptop and walked away to cool off

Zepto is having Item handling cost and a GST on the item handling cost. Can someone confirm what is the Item handling cost exactly for?

What was the final outcome/current status? Hope it worked out for you in the end.

I too have been waiting for long, for the resolution provided to be updated on the forum. Once let known to the members, the issue keeps gnawing us. The OP would do well to share the result or the stage in which the process is currently in.

Please.

I am trying to purchase Timberland boots online for myself. Apart from Amazon and Flipkart, I am seeing these boots are listed on a few sites like
Are these sites genuine? Any first hand feedback on buying from these sites will be helpful.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

I'd like to share a poor experience that I have had with Amazon.
TL;DR - Amazon messed up with delivery dates, even after request. The system auto-returned the product back to the seller.

There was Summer sale in the first week of May 2025. I got a very good deal on a Gaming laptop. The laptop that was listed for 76990 came down to 69,000 with HDFC Bank offer. It was a good deal as I explored local stores and none were able to match that price. I placed the order on 1st May. But the delivery date give was too far away i.e. 13th May. The problem was my whole family was travelling on that date hence no one was going to be there to receive it. So I requested Amazon to reschedule the delivery at a later date around 20th May. The executive agreed and updated it in the system. Upto 12th May I could see the delivery date displayed as 20th May.

Suddenly on 14th May, I get an sms that your laptop is out for delivery. Even the app, that was showing 20th May as delivery date was now showing 14th May as delivery date. I contacted the CC again but this time he said, he does not have an option to move it beyond 19th May. We were returning on 19th only. He said he'd take my request that time on 14th and on 15th morning they system would allow to change the delivery date to 20th. We also spoke to deliver guy and asked him not to return it the seller and hold in the warehouse.

On 15th when I opened the app, the app simply showed, "Product returned, refund in progress". I was very upset. Contacted again to CC, obviously the guy from yesterday would not have been there so someone else responded. He said he'd check but I knew he won't be able to help. He kep me on hold for some time and then started throwing some random reasons that the label was wrong. Product did not match etc. hence they returned it back to the seller. Now the product is listed at Rs. 78990 with no offers.

I knew I lost an excellent deal due to this very poor delivery scheduling by Amazon.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Can someone please help me to escalate the issue that I am facing with Flipkart Grocery order.
I had placed a grocery order on 02-JUL, with delivery date as 05-Jul.
I have been shopping with Flipkart Grocery since many years, and this has never happened to me before.
The status of the order is ‘Order Placed’ even today.
I have raised the query with on 5th, 6th and 9th. All the 3 times, I was told that the issue will be resolved in 4 days.
And all the 3 times, the status of my query changes to Resolved next day.
I am not able to cancel the order and even the CC person not able to cancel the order.
I did send an email to grievance email ID. I got a response saying that the issue will be resolved in 24 hours.
Now, even after 5 days, no progress on the issue. I don’t know whom/how to escalate this issue further.
Any help will be appreciated.

If paid through credit card, you can raise a chargeback request through the credit card customer care.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Has anyone found any considerable discounts during the Amazon prime day sale? It looks like Amazon is desperate to make profits. I do not see any discounts on the items I have on my wish list. Even for products costing 70K+ (not consumer electronics) the sale discount is only 2K. The prices of few items were jacked up as usual.

Even the instant bank discount had new tricks applied - Offer processing fee of Rs. 49. No cost EMI offers had extra 250 off, but when you add the offer processing fee + emi processing fee, it negates the extra discount offered.

I was in need of few things, but even after the card discounts, the net discount on price was < 7%. After a lot of permutations and combinations I found the most profitable way was to split the purchase across cards. Finally placed 3 orders, paid with 3 cards and extracted maximum benefits.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Amazon sale has become a joke.

There are no discounts. In fact, I noticed that the prices for some of the products (which I was planning to buy during the sale) are actually considerably higher compared to the prices before the sale.

Lesson learnt, don't wait for any sale (except for mobile phones). Buy whenever you feel that you are getting a good deal.

Yes, I have seen this behaviors since last one year on Amazon. They actually increase the prices during the sale period.

To circumvent this, I add the items to my watchlist/favorites. Whenever there is a price drop, Amazon notifies me and if it is within my budget, I buy it. I don't wait for the sale anymore. Except if there is some exclusive product such as a new phone. Else sale is of no use.
