After a few minutes he said the final bill was Rs.1850 !! He said some offer was there on the website and I got a cool discount of Rs.1000 !!
So basically my expensive lens costed me the same as my wife's lens bought last month.
Is it transition lens? I mean, do they change color under sunlight?

Nopes, mine is not photo-chromatic. But they said that they do have photo-chromatic lenses also. Didn't ask price though.

I had bad experience with such lenses during my school days. After reaching school, it used to take atleast 10-15 mins to come to normal from dark. Plus, the lens did have a slight tint in normal conditions also. So stopped using them, and discourage others also who plan such, unless they have low power.

Mine is -3.25 with both spherical and cylindrical power, so keeping spectacles in pocket for a min is impossible. For people with less power or plus power, they can try by keeping the spectacles inside the pocket till the tint comes back to normal mode.

After quite a bit of heart burn with the wait, first I lodged a complaint on India Post website. They closed it saying "Article not traceable and not in our system."

Taken aback by the reply, somehow I contacted the Delhi's International Mail Centre that handles all international parcels etc. Gave them the tracking number and they said it is" In Transit" to India. The package has been dispatched but not reached India yet. Hence it reads EDI Received.

So the wait continues. I am hating this.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

I have checked for Oil and Fuel Filters of Xylo and Elite i20 Diesel on www.partsbigboss.in
The Make of Oil Filter and Fuel Filters is "Zip" but the Price of Local Market is More than twice of PBB.

Is there any harm if the critical parts such as Oil Filters and Fuel Filters used from Zip (PBB)?

I had bought Zip Oil Filter for our Elite i20 from Local Market and I was charged 400/- (Tax Invoice) and that too without outer carton.

I am not carrying out Service at HASS but FNG even though the car is under standard warranty of 2 years. To Hell with the HASS.

Zip Make Oil Filter, Air Filter, and Cabin Filter for Elite i20 Diesel from PartsBigBoss.in

If it is from China, 45 days is normal. 60 days is extreme end.
If you do not get within 60 days, then something is amiss.

p.s. I just saw the post is from Sweden, but confused since Sweden Post option is available in some alibaba vendors as well.
I think that though shipment has been demarcated as air mail, it may instead be sent via ocean freight. That reduces shipping charges further. Kindly check if they have done some such stunt.

I have bought the dashcam from GearBest and not AliExpress.

I have contacted ask of them but none have replied so far.

I have left hopes of receiving the package.

Anyone here buying from Amazon in their 2 days grocery coupon back offer on the 1st and 2nd of each month? I purchased their organic lineup of rice, atta and dals this time and they sent it by Indian post. Am in a meeting at work and the postman calls me and says the 20kg package is too big that I should come collect it from the post office! Frustrating and have decided not to purchase such stuff from Amazon anymore.

I had ordered 3 dashcams from Gearbest. All orders placed on the same date.
For two orders I selected NL post and for one I selected Sweden post.

The Sweden post items took twice the time to reach.

Lesson learnt: Never select Sweden post.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Sweden Post from China is slower than China Post.
Hong Kong or Singapore Post seem to be much better.

btw it is common feedback that anything ordered from gearbest takes 45-60 days on avg to receive. So my suspicion is that they are indeed using ocean freight.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Bought something from SeeedStudio.com first time on 29th March.

They provided shipping info on 31st March (shipped by Singapore Post).

The tracking status is "Information Received (This is not an acknowledgment of the physical receipt of the stated Registered Article)" since 1st April.

Means Seeed Studio has actually not shipped it?

Any reviews of SeeedStudio.com ?

I have had a similar experience with Amazon a few months back and this was specifically with a package sent using India Post. I received a call asking me to come and collect it from the post office which I declined stating that it was booked under "home delivery" and a day later it was delivered by them at my doorstep.

I am assuming this is specific to India Post based on my experience.

Which ever courier company took the product is already charging to deliver the product home and would also charge based on the weight so I see no reason why you would need to go to the post office and collect it.

..SD

Not an e-commerce delivery, but once Blue Dart tried that stunt with me. I had sent some documents to my father in Kerala; they called him (an invalid) asking him to collect the parcel from their office. So I called the local Blue Dart office and asked them to return the package if they are not willing to do the last mile delivery despite my having paid for it. Next day, they delivered.

They just try; if someone obliges it is a trip saved. If they don't, no harm done.
