Haha, the first thing I would want to do/buy - but I am not sure if I will be able to, is a simple hair-cut. I have started wearing a hair band today onward :(

After that there is a long list of things that need servicing (Car, Activa, AC, Washing Machine), Some Pest Control to be done at home, Some fixes at the house (sitting at home you realize the small things that need fixing), and many more.

But I am not very clear on how I will get all of this done. The threat of the virus from the outside service providers will still remain high post lock-down.

So may be I will still be forced to stay at home and continue to manage with what I have

1. Dinner for myself so that I dont have to worry about the dishes post my meal
2. Filter coffee at a place ~200kms away from BLR so that my Interceptor doesnt disown me
3. A haircut so that I dont look like my neighbor's Lhasa Apso
4. Better kitchen equipment - the lockdown made me realize that cooking is fun and with all the Youtube cooking lessons, I want those nice pans.
5. Books - at least a 3 month supply
6. A peaceful vacation in the hills.
7. A Roomba or the Mi version when it comes out

Most of these are things on my want list. Looking at the conditions, I think some will have to wait until the whole situation subsides.

We just got the Helix with Headrests for our new office after trying out half a dozen other Featherlite chairs. I can certainly vouch for that particular model. No idea about the exact name or the price though.

This recession and lockdown was like a wake-up call for folks like me who live paycheck to paycheck. Now no.1 priority is to accumulate rainy-day backup(4-6 months worth) & close off my loans ASAP. Have both car & home loans running

Voted for 'Not planning on buying anything' . I was planning on replacing my 12 year old bike, but now shelved the plan for foreseeable future. Wish this recession came last year, wouldn't have gone for the car loan either & could have cleared off substantial part of my balance HL

Might need new tyres for my 530d. She sure is slipping & sliding around under hard acceleration, more so after the remap.

But other than that, I don't think too much. In fact, there are a couple of things we had planned (e.g. my kid brother was planning to buy a new luxury car), but have now kicked 1 - 2 years down the road.

I had planned to buy a Car this year. With the car prices in Singapore, I had pinned my hopes on doing so after getting the appraisal this year. Now that there wont be any upward salary revision this looks bleak. On the other hand we are staring at salary cuts and also job loss.

Hoping that I manage to escape this crisis with my Job intact, the first purchase would be a Laptop. Infact, I may not wait for the circuit breaker (as it is called here in Singapore) to end before ordering one.

Car plans are shelved for this year. Maybe next year if all goes well..

More importantly a rethink on my current financial planning is needed to cater for such emergencies in the future.

Working from home for me primarily involves calls through the day, both on phone and over conference apps. I desperately need a truly wireless earphones like Jabra elite etc. to make life easier for me as I like to move about the house.

I'm actually looking forward to invest in some high density weights, an inclining bench, pull up bar, and a 3ft rod for home workouts. The thing I've missed the most is the gym.

So, the first thing I am going to buy when the lock down ends is a 1Kg Bag of white cement.

Second on the list is a set of 'blocks' for my kid, who is turning maniac by the day.

I have some home repairs that have come up and some minor remodeling that WFH has necessitated to be able to work properly from home.

Also a new iPad but that just happens to be way overdue.

No other plans. I'm not dying to shop for the heck of it. If anything realise I don't need many of the things I would buy without thinking too much.
